About the RoleWe’re hiring a Group Head of Public Policy & Regulation to lead and shape our policy, regulatory, and government affairs strategy across Malaysia and the region. This is a critical leadership role for someone who can balance policy expertise with business insight, helping us scale responsibly in a fast-evolving industry.
You’ll represent Bjak with regulators, ministries, and industry groups, helping us stay ahead of legal, political, and regulatory changes while promoting innovation in fintech and insurance.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Bjak’s public policy and regulatory strategy across Malaysia and the Asia region.
- Represent BJAK to elected officials, government agencies and ministries engaged in policy making on issues of importance to our company and the people who use the service.
- Proactively identify and address emerging and significant technology policy issues, as well as regulatory developments in the region, that could present risks with implications for the company and its products.
- Perform research with internal teams (legal, risk, product, compliance, commercial) to ensure alignment on regulatory requirements.
- Build and lead thought leadership in external engagements, forums, and public consultations
- 8-10 years of experience in public policy, government relations, or regulatory affairs.
- Deep understanding of Malaysia’s political and regulatory systems.
- Proven track record of engaging effectively with regulators and senior government officials.
- Strong strategic thinking and the ability to communicate complex regulatory issues.
- Experience in fintech, insurance, or tech-related industries is highly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Political Science, Public Policy, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Regional exposure or experience in ASEAN is a plus.
