POSITION SUMMARY: As the Group Exercise Director, you’ll lead a high-energy, member-facing environment overseeing group exercise (land and aquatic) and the wellness floor. This role requires a balance of people leadership, operational oversight, and hands-on engagement to ensure a safe, inclusive, and motivating experience for all. You’ll be visible, active, and adaptable—supporting staff, engaging members, and stepping in where needed to keep operations running smoothly.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and grow group exercise programs (studio and aquatic)
  • Oversee wellness floor operations, safety, and member engagement
  • Recruit, hire, schedule, and develop instructors and wellness staff
  • Evaluate performance and provide ongoing coaching
  • Ensure staff certifications remain current
  • Monitor participation, satisfaction, and program effectiveness
  • Maintain equipment and program spaces
  • Support marketing, events, and fundraising initiatives
  • Manage department budget and meet financial goals

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of fitness or wellness leadership experience
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to engage diverse populations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time; occasionally stoop/bend.

Skills Required
