Are you our new Group Consolidation & Reporting Accountant

The Group Consolidation & Reporting accountant will have ownership of the month, quarter and year end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of all subsidiaries and preparation of external financial reports. Approximately 30% of the role will be focused on local statutory reporting of a local entity Intrum Services Ireland limited

Location: Dublin

What will you do:

  • Ownership of the month, quarter and year end reporting process within agreed deadlines
  • Ownership of monthly consolidation of group entities (c.150 entities) within Cognos Controller, including:
    • agree and publish detailed monthly closing instructions to subsidiaries
    • ensure accuracy of consolidated FS
    • preparation of the consolidated cashflow statements (partially automated but with manual adjustments required)
    • support subsidiaries and Finance SSC as required to ensure timely and accurate completion of reporting
  • Support to roll out of consolidation functionality within new ERP (Workday) to go live Jan-25 - processes are currently partially automated/manual with improvement to come via the Workday implementation
  • Preparation of the external quarterly and annual reports - currently a manual process with automation to come following full Workday implementation in Q1-25
  • Key contact for external auditors in partnership with Global Technical Accounting Manager
  • Some travel within EU required

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience with complex, multinational consolidations
  • Experience in a listed reporting environment
  • Experience in a regulated, financial services environment
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to impart knowledge to others in a clear and concise manner
  • Highly organised with the ability to handle conflicting demands and meet deadlines with minimum supervision
  • Excellent analytical, logical thinking skills
  • Ability to engage with Senior Management, Group and Local internal clients
  • The ability to absorb and work under pressure to get the job done to high standards and to tight deadlines
  • Challenges the status quo
  • Capable of working proactively and on own initiative
  • Education: Qualified Accountant with relevant PQE
