Group IS Cloud Architect

We are looking for a Group IS Cloud Architect to join our Architecture Center of Excellence (CoE) within the Group Business & Manufacturing IS department. Acting as a strategic advisor to Business Application Owners, you will architect comprehensive solutions that meet business requirements and drive Valeo’s digital evolution. In this role, you will define federated technical and functional architecture, provide the architectural vision and guardrails, and maintain a scalable Group cloud application landscape. You will collaborate closely with a diverse ecosystem of internal business teams (IS Core Team, Local IS SSC), Product Owners, Cybersecurity, and key external partners.

YOUR CHALLENGES? 

Strategic Architectural Advisory & Future-Proofing

• Business Partnership: Partner with Business Application Owners to translate complex business needs into robust, cloud-native architectural designs.

• Architecture Cartography: Define and maintain the functional and technical architecture cartography for your scope, leading the conceptual phase of cloud projects to balance innovation with standardization.

• Technology Scouting: Continuously evaluate the cloud market and conduct Proof of Concepts (POC) to recommend innovations that provide value to business units without the burden of operational management.

• Landscape Design: Design and maintain n-Tier, Geo-Distributed, and High-Availability cloud platforms (PaaS & SaaS), ensuring seamless integration with Valeo's core backbone (SAP-centric ecosystems).

• Governance, Compliance & Quality Control

• Design Governance: Act as the ultimate gatekeeper to review and approve proposed architectures, ensuring they adhere to Valeo’s security, compliance, and interoperability standards.

• Cybersecurity Compliance: Work closely with the Cybersecurity team to integrate "Security by Design" principles into every architectural proposal.

• Landscape Alignment: Ensure new solutions fit within the broader Valeo application landscape and technical roadmap, preventing architectural silos and proposing workflow optimizations.

• Resource & Demand Optimization: Consolidate the IS demands pipeline, optimize resource allocation (FinOps) to drive the COTS update strategy.

• Collaboration, Execution & Interoperability

• Cross-Functional Liaison: Coordinate between Business Application Owners, the Security team, and IT implementation teams to ensure a smooth transition from design to delivery, applying Valeo ISPM and Quality methodologies (QRQC, LLC).

• Operational Guidance: Provide centralized architectural guidance and coordinate with Core Team, Off-shore (GISOCC India) teams, and external managed service providers (e.g., Oxya, Infosys, Teamwork) adhering to SLAs.

• Knowledge Sharing: Capitalize on architectural best practices and share expertise across subdomains to elevate the collective technical maturity of the organization.

LET'S TALK ABOUT YOU…

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Engineering degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

• 5 to 10+ years of professional experience in cloud architecture, enterprise architecture, or consulting within an international environment (Industry/Automotive experience is a plus).

• Strong technical proficiency in major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), cloud-native integration patterns, PaaS & SaaS, and CI/CD ecosystems (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Docker).

• Deep IS technical skills including Containers/Kubernetes, database connectivity (Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL), and scripting.

• Proven strategic thinking with the ability to design solutions for complex, multi-application environments and SAP-centric enterprise architectures.

• Excellent soft skills: strong stakeholder management, communication, and the ability to influence decision-making without direct operational authority.

• Strong transversal competencies: Be Agile, proactive, customer-oriented, and highly skilled in cybersecurity and DBMS.

• Fluent English (oral and written) is mandatory.
