If you’re the go-to person, with the know-how to keep facilities running like clockwork, we have an opportunity for Service Attendant - Grounds /Handy Person for the Village and Facilities Management Services at Stanmore. This is a full-time, 2 weeks in and one week off working 10 hours per day roster. You will be doing bus in and bus out from Mackay or drive in and drive out from Mackay.
Who are we looking for?
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your main responsibilities will be to deliver various Utility and Grounds services as part of a team. You must also be willing to provide a broad range of assistance to other services provided by Sodexo. You will be required to attend to the maintenance of grounds areas, unloading and loading equipment, and general manual labour etc.
The role is based in the town and external ranger mine facilities eg FIFO camp, housing, Mess etc. You will be required to learn and abide by the Stanmore safety procedures - this is good stepping stone for those looking to enter the mining industry.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Previous grounds and general maintenance experience in a remote site, mine camp, school, or large grounds area
- Able to follow instructions and ensure effective time management in the contractual service deliver
- Previous experience working with power tools, ride on mowers, chemical handling
- Previous experience working with safe usage of related chemicals, fertilisers, poisons and pesticides, as well as strong safety awareness and safe work ethic
- Able to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
- Current Open Driver License
