DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely operate a tractor trailer in a manner that reduces risk and liabilities.
- Perform and properly document pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure they are in a safe and legal condition.
- Maintain accurate records of trip details, including mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance reports and hours worked.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, equipment operators, and other team members to coordinate material transport and delivery schedules in a direct and friendly manner.
- Always adhere to Emery Sapp & Sons safety policies and procedures.
- Perform basic maintenance and repairs on the truck and trailer when necessary.
- Extensive travel may be required.
- Accurately navigate a tractor trailer using instructions, maps or GPS, to a wide variety of locations both on road and off.
- Properly wear and safely use PPE.
- Properly record hours worked using an ELD in compliance with Hours of Service regulations.
- Quickly connect and disconnect hoses, as needed, for proper loading and unloading of liquid from machinery that is in motion.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class A CDL with Tank endorsement.
- Valid DOT Med Cert with Non-Excepted Interstate self-certification.
- 3 years of experience operating tank trailers and transporting liquids preferred.
- Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and best practices for liquids transport and delivery.
- Occasional heavy lifting.
- Ability to operate equipment during loading and unloading processes.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic mechanical skills for minor truck and trailer maintenance.
- Willingness to travel to various job sites as needed.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to read, understand and navigate using paper and/or digital maps.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.

Skills Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class A CDL with Tank endorsement
- Valid DOT Medical Certificate with Non-Excepted Interstate self-certification
- Experience operating tank trailers and transporting liquids
- Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and liquids transport best practices
- Ability to perform and document pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Ability to properly record hours using an ELD in compliance with Hours of Service
- Ability to connect/disconnect hoses for loading/unloading liquids and operate related equipment
- Basic mechanical skills for minor truck and trailer maintenance
- Willingness to travel extensively to various job sites
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and read/navigate using maps or GPS
- Ability to safely wear and use PPE and perform occasional heavy lifting
- Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to work independently
- Ability to sit for long periods
