Position Summary:

Working independently and collaboratively with others, this position plays an integral role in executing our mission, philosophy, and commitment to providing high quality products and exceptional customer service to our internal and external customers. In addition to maintaining a high level of trust, integrity and ethical standards, all employees are also expected to promote a culture of safety by following all safety procedures, protocols and guidelines while working in a manner that minimizes the risk of damage to property and injury to the employee and others.

The essential function of this position requires prioritizing and completing all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner, adjusting for changing priorities and availability of resources, and demonstrate initiative identifying additional job-related tasks to be completed when time permits.

As part of this team, you will assist in all tasks to support assembly.

Essential Functions:

  • Able to properly use the hand-held grinder to finish products according to design specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine product requirements.
  • Inspect workpieces for defects, ensuring conformity to specifications and quality standards.
  • Selects mounts and attaches various attachments to grind different shapes and surfaces on products.
  • Perform routine maintenance on grinding equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.
  • Document production and quality data accurately and efficiently.
  • Follow well-established guidance from specified process instructions, blueprints, and communicated instructions from other team members.

  • Follow safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals and deadlines.

Contribute to a successful work group through positive interactions, active listening, meaningful collaborations, and the constructive exchange of ideas designed to meet or exceed the organization's strategic goals.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a grinding role within a manufacturing environment, preferred.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Ability to read tape measures accurately. (digital & non-digital)

Availability Requirements:

Due to the nature and scope of the essential functions of this position, the importance of personal interactions with coworkers, and the availability of job-related tools, equipment and resources at work, performance of the essential functions requires regular, consistent availability, accessibility, and presence on-site.

Approximately 40 hours / week may be required to efficiently perform the job duties of this position, including presence at designated internal and external meetings. This position may also require availability and accessibility to respond to and address emergencies and critical situations outside of normal business operating hours in the early mornings, evenings and/or during weekends. Overtime may be scheduled and required to meet departmental needs.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, write, verbalize and comprehend instructions and correspondence at the highest levels in the English language. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other team members. Advanced conflict resolution skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.

Mathematical Skills:

Must have mathematical skills equivalent to those required under degree requirements. Higher skills may be required depending on actual job duties.

Physical and Visual Activities:

Standing, Walking, Sitting, Lifting, Carrying, Balancing, Stooping, Reaching, Handling, Feeling, Acuity-Far, Acuity-Near, Depth Perception, and Field of Vision.

Physical Demands:

May require a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. May require lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance.

Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions:

Must be able to work in a shop environment, as well as a usual office environment. May be exposed to loud operating machinery, cold temperatures, chemicals, and vapors.

Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software:

Operate test equipment and/or basic hand tools.
