What You Will Do
We are seeking a strategic Graphics Project Manager to lead packaging graphics execution across a diverse portfolio of products. This role is responsible for driving cross-functional alignment, ensuring governance through the stage-gate process, and delivering packaging artwork that supports commercial objectives, brand standards, and operational requirements.
As a key partner to internal stakeholders and external vendors, you will oversee project prioritization, resource planning, risk management, and execution performance. You will identify opportunities to improve processes, increase speed-to-market, and enhance overall workflow efficiency while ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality packaging assets.
The ideal candidate combines strong project management expertise with a continuous improvement mindset, enabling them to successfully navigate complex packaging environments and drive measurable business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Project Management & Execution
- Lead the full lifecycle of packaging graphics projects including innovation, redesigns, line extensions, and maintenance initiatives
- Manage and communicate artwork project timeline, priorities, and status updates to all stakeholders
- Coordinate cross-functional inputs to define artwork project scope and ensure alignment with business objectives
- Monitor milestones and proactively identify and resolve risks, issues, and dependencies
- Ensure artwork is executed on time and within budget
- Artwork & Design Development Management
- Manage artwork development from initial design concept through production-ready files
- Facilitating design development and ensuring creative intent is feasible for print production
- Lead artwork routing, proofing, revisions, and final approvals across stakeholders
- Coordinate design adaptations across multiple structures, SKUs, and substrates
- Ensure accuracy of all packaging content and regulatory compliance in partnership with FSQA prior to release
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Act as the central point of contact across Marketing, Brand, R&D, Regulatory, Procurement, Manufacturing, and external partners
- Build and maintain strong relationships with creative team, design agencies, printers, and suppliers
- Key partner manager and day-to-day contact with pre-media supplier
- Facilitate communication, status meetings, and alignment across internal and external teams
- Resolve project issues and escalate risks as needed to ensure successful delivery
- Print Production & Activation Oversight
- Support pre-production activities including design feasibility, printability, and supplier capability alignment
- Partner with printers and premedia supplier to resolve artwork, production, and print issues
- Coordinate proofing, color approvals, and final release to print
- Ensure seamless handoff from design to production and activation processes
- Process, Tools & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure adherence to standardized workflows, tools, and operating procedures
- Track and document all project feedback, revisions, and learnings
- Identify opportunities to improve cycle time, reduce errors, and enhance efficiency
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and best practice sharing across teams
- Communication & Team Leadership
- Lead project meetings, planning sessions, and status reviews as it relates to artwork
- Ensure all stakeholders are informed, aligned, and accountable at each stage of the project
- Provide technical guidance on packaging design, print production, and artwork feasibility
- Represent Graphics / Design Operations in cross-functional forums
- Partners closely with the Creative Operations Manager on package design
- Partner with your Commercialization Project Manager to ensure the artwork workflow remains aligned with the overall project timeline.
- Partner closely with Procurement on supplier management by serving as the primary day-to-day contact for the premedia partner and aligning with Procurement on vendor performance, engagement, and relationship management.
- Provide ongoing feedback on vendor performance to support Procurement led activities (QBRs, evaluations, etc).
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Graphic Arts, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5–7+ years of experience in project management, packaging graphics, or artwork production
- Experience in CPG, food, retail, or regulated industries preferred
- Experience with premedia suppliers, packaging design, production art, prepress, and print production workflows required
- Strong project management, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong problem-solving and risk management capabilities
- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignment
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
- Experience with project and artwork management software and workflow tools (e.g., online proofing systems)
Position: Graphics Project Manager
Reports to: Director, Commercialization
Location: Remote
Type: Full-Time, exempt
Salary Range Opportunity:
- The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $120,000 + 20% annual bonus
Compensation Philosophy & Total Comp:
- Our salary ranges are based on verified market data and our philosophy of paying competitively for our size and industry
- Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company
- In addition to base salary, full-time team members receive medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K 6% match, and monthly reimbursements for wellness and home office.
