About the Opportunity  

At Cedar Crest College, we believe in the power of storytelling to inspire action and open doors. We’re seeking a Graphic Designer who brings both creativity and strategic thinking to their work, someone who can translate ideas into compelling visual experiences that reflect and elevate our brand. 

In this role, you’ll partner with colleagues across campus to create thoughtful, engaging design solutions that support enrollment, advancement, and campus life. You’ll play a key role in shaping how Cedar Crest is seen—helping prospective students envision their future here and ensuring our community feels represented and connected. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Design and produce high-quality, on-brand creative for print and digital platforms (publications, social media, email, web, advertising, and more)  

• Collaborate with campus partners to develop creative solutions that meet strategic goals  

• Help maintain and evolve the Cedar Crest visual identity across all touchpoints  

• Manage projects from concept through final production, ensuring accuracy and consistency  

• Prepare files for print and digital distribution with a strong attention to detail  

• Contribute to photo and video shoots, including creative direction and light editing  

• Balance multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced environment  

• Maintain and organize digital assets and design files  

• Bring forward new ideas, design trends, and opportunities to strengthen the brand  

What We're Looking For  

Education and Training 

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Media or related field, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience. 
   

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities 

• 2–4 years of professional design experience (agency, in-house, or freelance)  

• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)  

• Demonstrated ability to execute cohesive visual systems and campaigns  

• Strong typography, layout, and visual storytelling skills  

• Excellent organizational and time management skills  

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively  

• A portfolio that demonstrates creative thinking and polished execution  

• Ability to successfully prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines 

• Ability to work on occasional nights and weekends

Preferred

• Experience designing integrated marketing campaigns  

• Familiarity with Adobe Lightroom and Premiere Pro  

• Motion graphics or video editing experience  

• Photography experience  

• Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations  

Interpersonal/Supervisory/Management Skills 

• Must be able to manage multiple contractors and vendors 

• Ability to manage projects for multiple college departments
