The Graphic Designer I will support our in-house design team with creating final art for printed materials, large format graphics, print, and online ads. In addition, the Graphic Designer I is expected to sharpen and increase their design skills by working with members of the design team on a range of projects. This position collaborates with and reports to the Associate Director, Brand and Design.

Position type: This position will be covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement with AFSCME-CWU.
Pay: The hiring salary range for the position is $23.20-28.90 per hour based on experience.

What You’ll Do
• Develop best practices for precise production files for printed materials, large format graphics, and print and online ads, while meeting deadlines and other specifications
• Own assigned design projects, including onsite signage (print and digital), advertisements (print and digital) and large format graphics, from creative request through completion
• Produce effective designs for all media, seeking guidance as needed
• Offer input in creative meetings and proactively share ideas related to design and marketing projects
• Actively pursue design team members’ feedback in support of continuous growth and skill development
• Support the team throughout the execution of campaigns and projects, as requested
• Understand and work within brand guidelines
• Process and respond effectively to creative direction
• Work directly with our in-house Project Coordinator to ensure that jobs are completed and ready to go in a timely manner
• Other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking for
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, and MS Office
• Enthusiasm and interest in the design process from initial concept to finished product
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Good organizational skills that support the rest of the team
• The motivation to maintain and improve design standards
• Ability to receive and process feedback for improvement and growth
• Experience in video editing software
• Experience in Adobe After Effects or other motion graphics software
• Experience with shooting original photography
• Experience in Shopify
• Minimum 2-year degree in graphic design or art (B.A. or B.F.A. Preferred)
• Up to 2 years of experience working in graphic design
