Communications Specialist – Graphic Design

Summary

This position is responsible for creating clear, on-brand visual content across multiple media channels that enhances the company's brand and supports employee and customer communications. The role is focused on graphic design and visual problem solving — translating business needs into effective creative solutions for both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a strong designer who brings creative concept development, planning, organization, and creative thinking to each project; explores multiple directions; and refines work through iteration to deliver high-quality results in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and produce content across a range of needs, including web, email, print, presentations, campaigns, video, and other collateral
  • Translate communication goals into clear, effective visual solutions across formats and channels
  • Generate and explore multiple concepts for each project, applying thoughtful creative problem solving and strong design thinking
  • Refine and elevate work through iteration, delivering polished, production-ready materials
  • Apply strong design fundamentals across layout, typography, color, composition, and visual hierarchy
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure work is accurate, effective, aligned with business objectives, and consistent with brand standards
  • Plan, organize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of professional design experience across digital and print media
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Experience with video editing, motion graphics, or multimedia production is a plus
  • Experience with web and email design; familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is a plus
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, communication, and project management skills
  • A portfolio of relevant work is required and should demonstrate strong design fundamentals, creative thinking, visual problem solving, and quality of execution

Corporate Environment & Work Expectations

  • Serves as a member of the Brand team within the Corporate Communications department, collaborating closely with teammates to bring the company's story to life with clarity, consistency, and purpose
  • Partners with departments across the organization to develop effective visual communications that support business priorities and strategic initiatives
  • Contributes to broader Corporate Communications initiatives, campaigns, and events
  • Applies creativity within a structured environment, balancing innovation with accuracy, brand consistency, and regulatory considerations
  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, managing multiple concurrent projects while maintaining quality under shifting priorities and timelines
  • Supports storm duty and emergency response communications as needed, helping ensure customers, employees, and communities stay informed during severe weather events, system emergencies, and other situations that may arise outside of standard business hours
  • This position is based in Gulfport, Mississippi, with an expectation to report to the office four days per week
