The role of Grants Payments Data Analyst is to assist in building a forecast model for needed forecasting outside of Medidata Payments, as well as own that model and future updates and improvements. The role will also be involved in the process development of the forecasting process outside of Medidata Payments and how that links with forecasts from Medidata Payments. They will work closely with the Revenue Recognition, Clinical Payments, Investigator Grants Payments, and Project Analyst teams, along with other departments that contribute data to the forecasting and payments of sites, assist in developing the end-to-end forecasting process of Clinical Site Payments. The Analyst will also be involved in developing a client-ready format of the forecast for the Project Analyst to incorporate into their Financial Client Deliverables.
What you will do
- Work with the Central Planning and Clinical Operations teams to gather current Site enrollment and Patient enrollment data (actuals and forecast)
- Assists in creating a model for forecasting needed outside of Medidata Payments, and owns the model and subsequent updates and improvements.
- Assist in linking the forecast model with Medidata Payments forecasts
- Work with the FP&A Revenue Recognition team to confirm adherence to requirements for financial audits
- Creates Client ready forecast deliverables as specified per Sponsor contracts
- Forecast Analysis: Plan vs Actuals; Total budget needs with Sponsor
- Notify Project Analyst’s and Global Project Leads of issues in over/under forecast variances
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements and support the year end and interim audit processes
- Support the CO process
- Stay up to date with local and global revenue regulations
- Ensure accurate reporting to clients in a timely manner in line with client requirements
- Final reconciliation on study close out and provide Project Analyst with final client ready reports for their review
What you will bring to the role
- Ability to influence and challenge as required
- Understanding of the process of paying sites
- Understanding of Accounting and Revenue Recognition standards
Your experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficient in Excel, databases and accounting systems
- Degree educated with at least 2 – 5 years finance experience
