What You Will Do:

At Guidehouse, grants management is not a back-office compliance function—it’s where public dollars turn into real outcomes. Our team works at the center of some of the largest, most complex federal and state funding programs in the country, partnering directly with government leaders to design, launch, and sustain programs that matter—from healthcare access and community recovery to energy transition and infrastructure resilience.

You’ll join a team that combines deep technical credibility with strategic influence. We don’t just help clients comply with 2 CFR 200—we shape how programs are structured, governed, and delivered so they withstand scrutiny, adapt to shifting federal priorities, and produce measurable impact. Our consultants are trusted advisors, often embedded alongside agency leadership, helping translate policy into executable, audit defensible operations.

Guidehouse invests in how grants work tomorrow, not just how they worked yesterday. That includes modernizing grants operations with data, analytics, and AI enabled tools—while maintaining the rigor, transparency, and human judgment that public funding demands. You’ll have opportunities to innovate responsibly, build new solutions, and influence firmwide approaches to grants modernization.

Equally important, you’ll be part of a collaborative, mission driven culture. We value clarity, quality, and professionalism—and we support career paths that reward both subject matter depth and leadership. Whether you want to specialize deeply, lead large programs, or grow into broader advisory roles, Guidehouse provides the platform and trust to do meaningful work at scale.

If you’re looking for a place where your grants expertise is respected, your ideas shape outcomes, and your work has visible public value, this is that team.

We are currently searching for a Grants Management Consultant to support the design and implementation of federal grant projects for state and local government clients. You will support areas such as strategic planning, financial management, monitoring and compliance, and stakeholder engagement to provide full lifecycle grants management support. This role is an exciting opportunity to guide clients through transformative programs and to be a part of an impactful mission.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with state and local government clients to establish or enhance grants management processes and procedures across the entire grants lifecycle
  • Prepare budgets for award in spreadsheet workbook, analyzing requested amounts based on allowability, allocability and reasonableness.
  • Assist in analyzing and preparing reports to track status of awards and funding.
  • Develop procedures for the grant review and approval process.
  • Pull and analyze data from existing systems to monitor grant workloads.
  • Participate in client discussions and meetings
  • Effectively and concisely communicate and present information to clients and leadership
  • Develop agendas, meeting materials, and talking points in preparation for meetings
  • Develop high-quality presentations that effectively communicate key objectives and facilitate discussion across multiple stakeholders
  • Develop and ensure quality deliverables
  • Participate in business development activities
  • Participate in internal and external grants management-related training, knowledge management, and thought leadership activities

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • At least 1+ (ONE) years of grant-related experience at a federal agency, state, city or county government, university or consulting firm
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to quickly understand ongoing processes to develop and implement process improvements
  • Ability to identify and address client needs
  • Advanced proficiency in the full Microsoft Suite, including MS Teams, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with others
  • Ability to organize, perform, and track multiple tasks accurately in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
  • No sponsorship is available for this position

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Understanding of Uniform Guidance – 2 CFR 200, including Single Audit requirements, and its application to different types of financial assistance
  • Preferred areas of study are public policy, urban studies, public health, education, transportation, business management and administration, general business, or related disciplines.
  • Grants Management certification from the National Grants Management Association or Management Concepts or other equivalent organizations
