The Grants and Contracts Manager leads the agency’s efforts in securing funding and cultivating partnerships to support the agency’s programs and initiatives. This role involves researching funding sources and preparing/submitting compelling proposals. They work closely with executive and program leaders to drive strategic program growth, expand and diversify revenue streams, and strengthen financial sustainability across the state. The ideal candidate is passionate about our mission, collaborative and methodical in how they work, capable of managing multiple priorities, and reliably delivers high quality results and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and executing a diversified funding strategy aligned with agency goals and program expansion initiatives—including researching, identifying, cultivating, applying for and tracking funding opportunities from private, corporate and government funding across the state of Missouri.
- Oversee and manage compliance efforts with all funding sources based on their requirements.
- Managing all aspects of contracts and grants; including letters of interest, proposal development and timely submission.
- Providing stewardship to current funders, including regular communication and updates on programs and projects, when appropriate.
- Maintaining an accurate comprehensive grant and contract calendar with current and new funding opportunities; Tracking and reporting activity in donor database for grant programs.
- Facilitate consistent grant committee meetings with program leaders and Quality Assurance to ensure coordination and strategic alignment around funding opportunities.
- Fostering a collaborative culture emphasizing innovation, compliance, and best practices related to grant and contract funding across agency departments and external partners.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications- 3-5 years experience in grant/contract management in nonprofit or government sectors.
- Proven track record in securing significant grant/contract funding and revenue through partnerships.
- Experience tracking, reporting, and working with donor databases for grant programs.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university or college in related field
- Intermediate proficiency with grant or donor CRMs, online funding application portals such as Salesforce, and multiple grant/contract systems and platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of tools.
- Commitment to trauma-informed principles, including safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, and empowerment.
Essential Functions and Physical Demands

- The specialist must have reliable transportation and the capability to travel and report to all worksites.
- The specialist is occasionally asked to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
