Summary
The Grant Writing Executive acts as the strategic leader for all fundraising and grant acquisition activities supporting Project GREEN-SEED. In this essential position, the individual will identify, research, and cultivate high-value relationships with international non-governmental organizations, climate funds, development institutions, and multilateral donors. The core objective is to translate the project's technical frameworks—covering climate-smart agriculture, youth employment programs, and carbon offset strategies—into compelling grant proposals and persuasive presentations that secure vital funding.
Responsibilities:
- Proposal Strategy: Lead the complete lifecycle of developing, writing, and submitting high-impact grant proposals, concept notes, and technical bids to major international funders such as USAID, the EU-Africa Green Transition Initiative, the Green Climate Fund, the Global Environment Facility, and private foundations.
- Collaborative Planning: Work closely with internal program managers to build detailed project budgets, logical frameworks, and monitoring and evaluation indicators that fully comply with specific donor mandates.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain a strong pipeline of funding opportunities across public, private, and philanthropic sectors, with a focus on climate action, food security, youth empowerment, and sustainable agriculture within Africa.
- Market Analysis: Track emerging donor trends, funding cycles, and priority themes to ensure the project's strategy remains responsive and competitive.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the main liaison for donor interactions, preparing narrative progress reports, institutional updates, and executive pitch decks.
- External Advocacy: Represent the organization at international donor networking events, climate forums, and development partner roundtables to build strategic alliances.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure all proposals and ongoing grant activities strictly follow donor guidelines, reporting standards, submission deadlines, and legal requirements.
- Record Keeping: Organize and maintain a comprehensive database of all grant documentation, donor correspondence, and post-award reporting schedules.
