Sherwood Community Services is seeking a talented and passionate Grant Writer to join our Development & Partnership team. This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional writer who enjoys research, storytelling, and building compelling proposals that create meaningful impact.
As our Grant Writer, you will play a vital role in securing funding that supports programs and services for children and adults with disabilities throughout our community. What You'll DoIn this role, you will:
- Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
- Evaluate funding opportunities that align with Sherwood's mission and strategic priorities.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive grant calendar with proposal and reporting deadlines.
- Write persuasive grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with program leaders, finance staff, and leadership to gather information, budgets, outcomes, and success stories.
- Prepare timely grant reports and ensure compliance with funder requirements.
- Track grants from submission through award management and reporting.
- Maintain accurate records within the organization's CRM or grant tracking system.
- Collect program data and outcomes to strengthen future funding proposals.
- Support development initiatives, donor communications, and fundraising campaigns as needed.

Requirements
What We're Looking For
Successful candidates will have:
- Demonstrated experience in grant writing, nonprofit development, fundraising, or a related field.
- Outstanding writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Experience working independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of nonprofit budgeting and program evaluation.
- Experience using CRM or grant management software is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong listening and relationship-building abilities.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
