QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Minimum Experience: Graduation from a four year college or university with a related degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained
- All degrees must be received from an appropriately accredited institution.
Experience and Training
- Considerable knowledge of modern office procedures, practices, and equipment
- Ability to work with various customers internal and external to RASP
- Ability to work independently and see projects through to successful completion
- Familiarity with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), Federal Acquisition Regulations, and sponsored programs management in a higher education environment
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in performing assignments
- Experience working in higher education preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
- Must be organized, detailed oriented, able to multitask, have strong communication and customer service skills, work independently and also serve as a productive member of the RASP team.
- Be trustworthy to handle sensitive grant related documents and keep information confidential.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills, professional proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and the ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Proposal Development and Support: This position is expected to provide guidance in budget development, budget analysis, determination of costs and completion of proposal application and forms as needed during the proposal phase, assist PI’s with Cayuse SP/424 modules as well as interpretation of sponsor forms and requirements. Budgetary guidance consists of allowable costs under specific sponsor guidance, university requirements, federal costing requirements (including consistency) and any special restrictions (hazmat, animals, foreign travel, export control, etc.).
- Regulatory Compliance: Assist with committee meetings, inspections, notifications as well as Cayuse system modules relating to regulatory compliance.
- RASP Systems: Serve as Department's expert on electronic filing system SharePoint and Cayuse system modules, with the knowledge to train new staff and faculty, as needed.
- Financial Reporting: Assist with financial reporting as needed with activities to include: prepare monthly burn rate reports and monitor, with Post-Award and PI assistance, select award budgets to ensure agency and university requirements and policies/practices are followed, identify any fiscal issues.
- Award Establishment: Provide backup in establishing all funds in both the financial system and Cayuse system as well as preparing electronic grant file.
- Grant Closeouts: Provide backup to Post-Award with grant closeouts to include journal entries, budget revisions, expense certifications and intellectual property certifications and submits final closeout paperwork to accounting for fund closure. This also includes closing out in Cayuse and ensuring that all paperwork has been scanned and is in the electronic grant file.
- Records & Reports: Provide backup, as needed, to RASP staff for a variety of records and reports with multiple steps, multiple timeframes and readily available guidelines that requires significant program knowledge and some independent research; report generation using standard and specialized software with limited variety of formats. Reports can be generated using Excel, Cayuse, and other systems.
