The Grant Manager supports and manages all medical contributions (research grants, fellowships, Independent Medical Education, etc.) in multiple therapeutic areas / disease states, including assessing team needs, evaluating education providers and managing the department's budget.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assess clinical data and educational needs across therapeutic areas (e.g. Multiple Sclerosis, Rare, Immunology, Oncology) to support Medical Units In the development of a high quality, innovative and strategic medical education plans.

  • Critically evaluate education providers for capacity to develop highest quality, innovative Independent Medical Education (IME) programming consistent with principles of adult learning. Assess education providers to ensure that medical education activities are of the highest scientific rigor, educationally well designed and delivered in a timely, cost-efficient manner and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Review Medical Contribution applications (Research Grant, IME, Fellowships) and evaluate according to Global Operating Procedures and guidelines.

  • Ensure efficient Medical Contribution processing and follow through with Medical Directors, Legal, Compliance, Finance, E&BI, and the requester.

  • Participate in the development and management of the budget for overall education plans, including providing regular updates, tracking and modifications as required with one or more therapeutic areas.

  • Manage the Medical Contributions process including LOA, Due Diligence, payments, interim and final outcomes, budget reconciliations for all applications.

  • Review for accuracy and completeness active programs. Complete program monitoring and evaluation.

  • Collect and analyze educational outcomes from funded activities; Monitor appropriate overall metrics and effectiveness measures and communicate results to internal stakeholders.

  • Maintain an accurate and current database on the status of all projects as assigned.

  • Demonstrate functional knowledge of medical education of applicable guidelines including ACCME, OIG, PhRMA, FDA, etc.

  • Assignments as needed

About You         

  • Earned Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of grants, administrative or similar experience, ideally within the pharmaceutical industry

  • Outstanding organizational requirements and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage budgets. 

  • Possess established track record of effectively prioritizing and managing multiple projects.  Demonstrates effective time-management skills; consistently meets established timelines with quality output. 

  • Must be able to work quickly, with a high degree of accuracy

  • Must possess sound interpersonal and information gathering skills, being able to communicate well to others at all levels throughout the organization and have the ability to work in a team environment, effectively interacting with others.

  • Advanced computer skills including: MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel. 

  • Flexible, adaptable and open to change.  Thrives in a fast paced environment

  • Strongly preferred: Understanding of Medical and Regulatory Affairs, Drug Development and Commercialization, FDA, and regulatory guidelines (e.g. PhRMA, internal SOPs, OIG, AMA, ACCME) and their implication for the appropriate handling of grants.  Grant management a plus.

The salary range for this position is:

$122,250.00 - $176,583.33

All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs. Additional benefits information can be found through the LINK.
