Grain Originator

River Valley Cooperative is looking for a dynamic individual to join our Grain Origination team. We are looking for safety-minded people who are collaborative team players, and are ready and excited to make a difference.

Our Originators are accountable for originating grain by calling on grain customers and prospects, and promoting company grain programs and policies.

What You'll Do:

• Identify potential key accounts/grain volumes by county and establish contact pattern
• Work with origination team to establish and update market share numbers
• Establish plan with measurable goals to increase market share in designated trade area
• Be part of the origination team to establish grain programs and policies
• Communicate grain programs and policies to grain customers and prospects
• Be able to evaluate marketing alternatives and execute marketing plans with grain customers
• Understand company cash grain positions and basis positions and be able to evaluate these positions for marketing returns
• Understand cash and basis spreads to add value to market positions

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in ag business or equivalent
• Ag retail experience preferred
• Basic computer skills required.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Working Conditions:

May be exposed to dust, noise, heat, cold, ag chemicals and vapors, and moving machinery on occasion as part of this position. May be required to work long hours in season, as well as work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
