Description

Position Objective: In this job, the team member will provide grain accounting support to the CFS grain department. This position will we responsible for grain accounting functions such as grain settlements, contracts, position reports and purchase orders.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Accurately settle (issue payments) customer grain purchase contracts
  • Accurately settle sales shipments and enter direct shipments 
  • Balance daily position reports and other reconciliation activities
  • Know and follow all company safety policies/procedure.
  • Represent yourself and CFS professionally at all times in action and appearance.
  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisor or management

Requirements

Licensing, Certification and Qualification:

  • Degree in accounting or equivalent accounting experience.
  • Experience with computerized accounting software
  • Understanding of grain sales and marketing (preferred, not required)
  • Demonstrated, strong customer service orientation and experience.
  • Willingness to work extended hours on a seasonal basis.
  • Good organizational skills with ability to prioritize and efficiently complete tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially while moving back and forth between different tasks
  • A high degree of personal integrity and confidentiality to deal with large financial transactions and customer information                
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Work Environment: Will be subject to mostly an environment-controlled office/building.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, hear and use hands. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to work at computer for extended period of time.
