Summary Generated by Built In

LemFi (Series B) is building the go-to financial app for the Global South.

Moving to a new country shouldn’t mean starting from zero. That's why our team of 400+ spanning 20+ countries is building a financial ecosystem that helps immigrants stay connected to home, build stability, and create wealth regardless of where they are from or where they live.

What began as fast, affordable remittances is now evolving into a complete platform for multi-currency accounts, payments, credit, and long-term financial growth.

With millions of users across the globe, we process over $1B in monthly transactions to 30+ countries, proving that borders shouldn't limit financial opportunity.

About the role

LemFi moves money across borders for people the traditional financial system has underserved. Behind every successful transfer is a reconciliation function that proves every dollar, pound and naira ended up exactly where it was supposed to. This role sits inside the Finance/Reconciliations team and is based in Oslo, working daily with reconciliation colleagues across LemFi's other locations.

You will own the end-to-end daily and monthly reconciliation of an assigned set of processor and bank accounts - investigating breaks to find the cause, not just the amount - and you will spend roughly 30% of your time writing Python and building AI-assisted automations that make the whole cycle faster and more robust. That second half grows as the internal reconciliation tool matures. This is an early-career role and reconciliation experience is not required; the quantitative foundation and the technical instinct are.

What you'll build and own

  • Own the daily and monthly reconciliation of an assigned set of processor and bank accounts end to end - timing differences, reversals, fee legs, FX and trade differences, duplicates and genuinely unsettled transactions.

  • Investigate breaks to find the cause, not only the amount, and chase unsettled money with payment partners and banks until it is recovered.

  • Produce month-end reporting and supporting evidence to audit standard, and keep reconciliation documentation up to date so someone else can run the portfolio.

  • Work with Customer Service, Engineering and Product to resolve customer disputes within SLA.

  • Write Python to automate the repetitive parts of the reconciliation cycle: ingestion, normalisation, matching passes and exception reporting.

  • Use AI coding tools to build automations quickly, get them reviewed, and help build the internal reconciliation tool - writing matching rules, testing against known-good output and documenting the logic.

  • Raise recurring breaks that should be fixed upstream with the relevant owner, rather than clearing the same issue every month.

Your experience

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business economics, industrial economics, finance, statistics, applied mathematics, data science or a comparable quantitative subject.

  • Writes Python - able to read, write and debug scripts for data work (pandas or equivalent).

  • Has used AI coding tools to build something that works and can walk us through how it works.

  • Strong numerical reasoning, comfortable with large datasets, and able to explain clearly why a figure is what it is.

  • Advanced Excel and accurate under month-end deadlines, with the judgement to raise something uncertain rather than resolve it quietly.

  • Fluent written and spoken English (Norwegian not required), and the legal right to work in Norway.

Nice to have

  • An internship, thesis or personal project involving real data end to end: sourcing, cleaning, analysing and presenting it.

  • Any exposure to payments, banking, accounting or audit.

  • Understanding of how a P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statement connect.
