UKAEA leads the way in realizing fusion energy, partnering with industry and research organisations to achieve ground-breaking advancements. Our goal is to bring fusion electricity to the grid by developing the power stations of tomorrow and the skilled workforce to deliver them.

  • Perform thermal and structural analyses for a range of fusion-grade components.
  • Present work undertaken to the wider team and capture this by writing up technical reports.
  • Help to plan and deliver technical work, coordinating tasks, budgets and timescales.
  • Work with external suppliers to make sure equipment and services meet the required standards.
  • Support the manufacture, assembly, testing and improvement of advanced engineering equipment and technologies.
  • Develop your technical, project management and leadership skills through our accredited graduate programme, supporting your journey towards professional registration.

Working with your line manager, you will get the opportunity to experience different roles and responsibilities within projects to broaden your understanding and help decide your future career route.

What you'll need

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related subject from 2025 to 2027.
