Office of Academic Resources (OAR)

The OAR is Haverford College's learning center and provides curricular support to strengthen student learning, persistence, and scholarship through reciprocal learning and reflection activities, while building an inclusive community of care and empowerment. We are a center where knowledge is generated for transformative purposes, both at individual and institutional levels.

About the Position
The OAR is actively engaged and collaborating with faculty to build and integrate our peer academic support systems. The role works directly with the program supervisor for the OAR peer tutoring program in designing, facilitating, and evaluating peer academic support training across the academic program, and assisting with program administrative tasks and record keeping.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop an AY25-26 pre-semester training schedule for all interested departments across the college and coordinate the physical spaces and materials needed for each training (25%)
  • Coordinate training sessions for OAR peer tutors and any departments who are prepared to compensate their drop-in support staff for additional training (45%)
  • Reconciliate peer tutor timesheets on a weekly basis and follow-up to ensure accurate timesheet submissions (20%)
  • Meet weekly with the Assistant Director to share reports on training, timesheets, and design a strategic plan for continued implementation of a new Peer Educator Administration model for Haverford (10%)

Line of Report: The Graduate Assistant reports to the Assistant Director of the Office of Academic Resources

Work Location

This position will be eligible for a hybrid work schedule, pursuant to the College’s Work Location Policy.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Pursuing a postsecondary degree in education, or related field (such as social work)
