Summary Generated by Built In

From day one, our mission has been to create an independent business with a unique culture – one that is controlled by the people who work for it. Finding the most talented and entrepreneurial people has always been key to our success.

People come to Howden for lots of different reasons, but they stay for the same one: our culture. That’s what sets us apart, and why we nurture and retain the best talent in the market.

Location: Dubai

Start date: October 2026

Applications close: Friday 31st July

Working structure: 4 days in office

Employee Benefits Team

Our Employee Benefits team sits at the intersection of people, data, risk, and business strategy,  helping organisations design, place, and manage insurance and benefits programmes that protect and support their people. This includes solutions such as private medical insurance, group life assurance, disability cover, retirement plans, and wellbeing benefits. The work can range from straightforward individual or small-group policies through to large, complex corporate and multinational programmes, where clients need to balance cost, compliance, employee experience, and insurer appetite. The team works closely with insurers and providers to help clients understand policy options, benefit limits, exclusions, claims experience, provider networks, premiums, renewals, and market terminology.

Our Graduate Programme

You’ll join a 12-month graduate programme designed to give you a strong foundation in insurance, risk modelling, and employee benefits. From the start, you’ll be part of the team, working on real client projects and learning how data, regulation, insurer relationships, and market insight come  together to shape advice for clients.

Throughout the programme, you’ll develop your analytical, commercial, and consulting skills through a mix of on-the-job learning, structured support, and exp sure to experienced colleagues across the business. You’ll be supported by a dedicated mentor and will have the opportunity to build relationships with peers, technical specialists, and senior leaders across Howden. Upon successful completion of the programme, you will transition into a permanent role, continuing your career at Howden with the skills, confidence, and market understanding to make an impact.

What you’ll be doing

Throughout the programme, you’ll:

  • Work with modern data, analytics, and business intelligence platforms to analyse insurance, claims, employee demographics, insurer quotations, policy performance, and renewal trends.

  • Support the development of pricing models, forecasting tools, benchmarking databases, and risk analytics solutions that help shape recommendations for medical, life, and wider employee benefits cover.

  • Create data visualisations, dashboards, and reports that help clients and colleagues make informed decisions about benefits programmes, insurer options, and renewal strategies.

  • Assist in improving data quality, automation, and reporting processes across the Employee Benefits portfolio, helping the team work more efficiently and deliver clearer insight.

  • Build an understanding of how insurance policies are priced, structured, and renewed, from individual policies through to large, complex corporate programmes.

  • Learn how local regulation influences policy design, minimum levels of cover, data requirements, and client advice.

  • Gain exposure to emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and predictive analytics, and learn how they can be applied within the insurance industry.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for recent graduates or students graduating soon in Actuarial Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related quantitative discipline. Candidates from other degree backgrounds who can demonstrate exceptional analytical and quantitative ability will also be considered.

You’ll thrive in this role if you are:

  • Comfortable working with numbers, patterns, and complex information.

  • Interested in data analysis, statistical modelling, business intelligence, data visualisation, or working with large and complex datasets.

  • Exposure to spreadsheet modelling, advanced Excel, database technologies, structured data management, or programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or similar would be advantageous, but is not required.

  • Curious about how machine learning, artificial intelligence, and automation technologies can be applied to solve real business problems.

  • Curious, motivated to learn, and keen to build technical and commercial skills in a fast-moving insurance environment.

  • Motivated to take ownership of your work and contribute to team success.

  • A problem-solver who approaches challenges with a positive, solutions-focused mindset.

  • Resilient, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Application Process

Our application process is designed to help show your potential, not to test what you already know.

  • Online application form

  • Online gamified assessment: These games will help us understand your natural strengths and how you approach different situations. There are no right or wrong answers. You can complete this stage on your phone or laptop, whichever suits you best!

  • Pre-recorded video interview (audio only option available): You will record your answers to a few questions using your phone or laptop, giving you the chance to tell us more about yourself in your own time in a relaxed setting.

  • Interview Super Day: During the day, you’ll take part in a virtual case study and interviews with colleagues from across the business, giving us the chance to learn more about your experiences, strengths, and motivations, while also giving you the opportunity to ask questions and explore whether the programme is the right fit for you.

What do we offer in return?

A career that you define.

Yes, we offer all the usual rewards and benefits - including great medical insurance, air tickets, a competitive salary and more - but we know you expect all that.

What you might not expect is a job where everyone has a voice, where volunteering in the community is part of the day job, and where everyone is encouraged to play a part towards our sustainability goals. We want people who want to make a difference - not just in the workplace, but in the industry and in the wider community.

Our Culture: People First

We are proud to be at the global table, but we are most proud of our culture. It has been built on a single and constant set of principles over more than 25 years, and it has helped us become:

  •     An international group with independence and people at its heart

  •     A home for talent with a unique culture: the biggest small company in the world

The focus on being a People First business has always been at the very heart of the Group. David Howden’s vision was to create an independent business with a unique culture; one that would survive and thrive as a business controlled by the people working for it.

 Diversity & Inclusion

At Howden Group Holdings we consider our people our chief competitive advantage and as such we treat colleagues, candidates, clients, and business partners with equality, fairness and respect, regardless of their age, disability, race, religion or belief, gender, sexual orientation, marital status or family circumstances.
