Main duties will include noise and vibration surveys. In addition to survey work there would also be desk based work with input to proposal writing, reporting, and noise modelling.
The role
- Participate in site visits, which will require travel and out-of-hours work
- Assist in undertaking acoustic surveys, including environmental noise monitoring and building acoustics testing
- Support the preparation of technical reports, including noise impact assessments and acoustic design advice
- Analyse and interpret acoustic data using specialist software
- Contribute to modelling and prediction of noise and vibration impacts
- Liaise with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders
- Ensure work complies with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., BS, ISO, planning guidance)
- Support senior consultants in project delivery to meet deadlines and quality standards
About you
The ideal candidate would be a recent graduate from an Acoustics related subject at Salford University, Southampton (Institute of Sound and Vibration), South Bank University, Leeds Beckett University or hold an IAO Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control.
AMIOA or TIOA (associate or technician member of the institute of acoustics) status is also desirable.

Skills Required
- Degree in acoustics or related subject (or IAO Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control)
- Ability to undertake environmental noise monitoring and building acoustics testing
- Experience or ability to perform noise modelling and prediction
- Ability to analyze and interpret acoustic data using specialist software
- Ability to prepare technical reports, including noise impact assessments and acoustic design advice
- Willingness to travel for site visits and work out-of-hours as required (principally SW England and Wales)
- Knowledge of and ability to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., BS, ISO, planning guidance)
- AMIOA or TIOA (Associate or Technician member of the Institute of Acoustics) status
- Good communication and stakeholder liaison skills
