- Responsibilities:
- Communicate constantly with Superintendent and Survey teams to provide layout and direction for a quality finished product.
- Safely and efficiently operate grader to find grade fill surfaces.
- Manage and communicate needs for water truck and rock/fill deliveries.
- Perform and pass base and subgrade inspections.
- Ensure proper densities are achieved for all fill products.
- Ensure bases are properly binding and no raveling.
- Protect valves and structures from damage during grading activities.
- Bring company tools daily to project.
- Requirements:
- Understanding of Subgrade, Base, Rock and other material installations.
- Minor shoveling of dirt and rock to clean Hubs when needed.
- Ability to safely operator large equipment specifically the grader but on occasion a loader and/or a roller.
- Physically sound to pick up minor tools and equipment on a consistent basis.
- Ability to grade base to prescribed layout including hubs and/or stakes with a grader machine.
- Understanding of the fundamental characteristics of rock binding and finishing.
- Ability and understanding of how to operate equipment under GPS control.
- Setting up and taking down of GPS equipment.
- Ability to climb and descend equipment multiple times per day.
- Ability to bring small equipment via company truck to project daily.
Ability to safely work around other equipment, personnel, valves, structures, hubs and layout safely and without damages or injuries.
Skills Required
- Understanding of subgrade, base, rock and material installations.

- Ability to operate equipment under GPS control and set up/take down GPS equipment.
- Ability to grade base to prescribed layout using hubs and/or stakes.
- Understanding of rock binding and finishing characteristics.

- Ability to protect valves, structures, and hubs from damage during grading.
- Physically able to perform minor shoveling and pick up small tools consistently.
- Ability to climb on and off equipment multiple times per day.
- Bring company tools and small equipment to project daily; communicate needs for water truck and material deliveries.
