$60,987 - $80,808 - $100,628

Job Description

Summary: The Government Programs Analyst II is responsible for conducting data development, pricing analysis and quantifying the impact of various benefit designs on client utilization and costs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Continuously improve, develop and maintain existing queries and models in support of departmental and company objectives
  • Understand benefit designs and adjust analyses as necessary based on clients’ customized plans
  • Interpret and effectively communicate pharmacy benefit claims processing issues
  • Analyzing pharmacy claims, trend and utilization for clients
  • Create and build reporting packages as required by government entities for insurance clients
  • Maintain and write customized data-mining queries that produce meaningful and actionable results within recurring reports utilized by senior staff members, executives, client services and clients
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of financial tools, market conditions, and trends
  • Reconcile existing transactions/reports through cross-referencing of incoming and outgoing data
  • Perform peer reviews of client deliverables
  • Produce monthly reports, which include key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting
  • Share subject matter expertise with team members and within the organization
  • Develop and maintain reporting SOP's for standardized and custom processes
  • Drive the development and implementation of initiatives to improve processes and procedures
  • Create and distribute the monthly financial metrics and reporting packets.
  • Other duties as assigned

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Client Responsibilities

This is an internal and external client facing position that requires excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills (listening/verbal/written). One must be able to; manage difficult or emotional client situations; Respond promptly to client needs; Solicit client feedback to improve service; Respond to requests for service and assistance from clients; Meet commitments to clients.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

For consideration, candidates will need a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in business, mathematics, statistics or other financial discipline; and a minimum of 3 years of financial and statistical reporting experience or equivalent combination of job related experience and education. Moderate understanding of Medicare Part D, Medicaid and Exchange lines of business required. At least 2 years of programming experience using SQL or SAS required.

Healthcare insurance/claims experience, Crystal reporting experience and SQL or SAS certification are preferred.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software. At least 2 years of programming experience using SQL or SAS required.
