The Role
We are seeking a dynamic, hard-working, strategic candidate to join Spotify’s Global Government Affairs team in Istanbul as Government Affairs Manager for Türkiye. One of our key roles is to promote Spotify’s ability to compete fairly and grow by influencing public policies. We represent the company before legislators and regulators, anticipate emerging issues, and mitigate potential risks.

The Manager of Türkiye Government Affairs will work as part of a global government affairs team, coordinating closely with colleagues on the team, as well as other groups throughout Spotify to craft effective, consistent positions on the issues of greatest importance to our company.

This position will report to the Head of Government Affairs for Middle East Africa (MEA) and Japan-Asia Pacific (JAPAC) based in Dubai.

  • Build deep expertise on public policy topics critical to Spotify in Türkiye, including music policy, content moderation and online safety, media regulation, digital taxation, copyright and licensing, digital competition policy, and data protection and privacy
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize public policy developments affecting Spotify in Türkiye, and design thoughtful, effective advocacy strategies in partnership with global and regional colleagues
  • Contribute to public policy initiatives across other MENA markets, working in close coordination with regional and global Government Affairs teams
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Communications, Trust & Safety, Legal, Product, and Market teams to align global policy positions with local realities and business goals
  • Manage and coordinate the work of external consultants and policy advisors in Türkiye, ensuring consistency with Spotify’s global strategy and high-quality stakeholder engagement
  • Build constructive relationships with external stakeholders including trade associations, civil society organizations, academic experts, and members of the creative community to support thought leadership and coalition-building

Who You Are

  • You have experience developing and executing public policy or government affairs strategies in complex regulatory environments
  • You are comfortable working with government institutions, regulators, trade associations, and other public policy stakeholders
  • You bring experience from government, a company, a trade association, or a combination of these environments

  • You communicate clearly and persuasively, both in writing and verbally, in Turkish and English
  • You approach advocacy with integrity, professionalism, and a collaborative mindset
