This is an opportunity to work on meaningful technology that directly impacts patient care and critical healthcare services across the organisation.

In this role, you will influence cloud strategy and play a key role in designing and automating modern cloud platforms, improving reliability and connectivity, and empowering development teams through platform capabilities, Infrastructure as Code and engineering best practices.

Working within a collaborative and forward-thinking technology team, you'll have the autonomy to drive continuous improvement, solve complex technical challenges and help shape the future state of cloud services, all while ensuring compliance with enterprise security, governance and operational requirements.

Above all, people will be at the core of everything you do, committing to and supporting our Mission and Values.

The Position

  • Design, implement and support scalable, secure and resilient Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments, including landing zones, networking, identity, governance and connectivity architectures.

  • Design and operate Google Cloud networking solutions, including VPCs, Shared VPCs, Cloud Router, Cloud VPN, Cloud Interconnect, peering, BGP routing and hybrid connectivity; troubleshoot network performance and connectivity issues.

  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, supported by modern source control, automation and configuration management practices.

  • Implement and maintain cloud security controls, including IAM, KMS, secrets management, policy-as-code, CSPM tooling and governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with organisational and regulatory requirements.

  • Configure and support observability platforms, including monitoring, logging, alerting and incident response capabilities using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpManager.

  • Monitor cloud utilisation and expenditure, recommending optimisation opportunities through rightsizing, committed-use discounts and cost governance practices.

  • Create and maintain technical standards, reference architectures, runbooks and operational documentation to support platform consistency and knowledge sharing.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, reviewing cloud architecture designs and supporting application migration and modernisation initiatives.

  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security and application teams to deliver cloud-native and hybrid architectures aligned with business and technical requirements.

  • Participate in Infrastructure on-call rotations, lead cloud-related incident response activities and perform root cause analysis (RCA) to drive continual service improvement.

The successful candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or demonstrate equivalent industry experience. You will bring a minimum of five years’ hands-on cloud engineering experience, including strong practical expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or other leading public cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. A solid understanding of cloud architecture, platform operations, and modern engineering practices is essential.

To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record of delivering cloud platform support, cloud migration initiatives, and hybrid connectivity solutions within complex enterprise environments. You will possess strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation, with the ability to design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient cloud platforms. Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise workloads and driving continuous improvement through automation and best practices will be highly regarded.
