Job Description:

Google Cloud Platform Architect:
This position is to work in the FinTech area of Broadcom. Our division provides electronic payments and banking solutions in SaaS using AI/ML to determine risk. This position is for a GCP Architect who will contribute to our standards, processes, automation, and operational excellence initiatives. The candidate will be customer-centric and enjoy building, operating, and improving SaaS ecosystems.
The GCP Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions on the Google Cloud Platform to meet the strategic needs of our organization. Responsible for researching and recommending specific systems, applications, data, or process designs for large or complex cloud infrastructure/application solutions. Be a key contributor to architectural governance, and decisions related to projects and participate in all customer/internal architecture discussions.

Key Responsibilities:
● Design, deliver and refine cloud services consumed across IaaS, and PaaS GCP services.
● Research and identify the right tools and technology stack based on scalability, latency, and performance needs.
● Assess technical feasibility by building rapid PoCs, and finding technological solutions for gaps.
● Understanding and experience working with GCP services (Network/IAM/Organization /Project Structure/Security/Monitoring/Logging/compute/storage/Caching) solutions
● Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including VPC, subnetting, VPN, DNS, and load balancing.
● Deep understanding of GCP services including Kubernetes Engine, Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and others.
● Automate deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Deployment Manager, CloudFormation, GitHub, and GCP native services (deployment manager/source repositories)
● Create or contribute to IaC CI/CD pipelines following DevOps practices.
● Demonstrate proficiency with programming/scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, Go, or similar.
● Integration of GCP to Active Directory (GSuite and GCDS)
● Ensure cloud solutions adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements.
● Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, DevOps, security, and operations to deliver robust cloud solutions.
● Prepare and present regular reports on cloud infrastructure status, performance, and improvements.
● Collaborate with cloud vendors, customers, and internal teams for delivery.
● Be well-versed in taking teams from legacy to modern architecture in production.
● Able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment and achieve results amidst constraints.
● Participate in an on-call rotation willingness to participate in escalated issues as required.

Education and Experience:
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
● Minimum 12 years of experience in cloud architecture, with at least 8 years focused on GCP
● 5+ years of experience working in a Kubernetes environment
● 5+ years of experience directly building Kubernetes deployments, using Helm Charts leveraging rollout methodologies such as A/B, Blue Green, and/or Canary.
● 5+ years of experience with modern DevOps tools and practices including Git, Jenkins, automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.
● 5+ years of experience with mission-critical production ecosystems
● 5+ years of experience analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale, distributed production systems.
● GCP certifications are desired but not mandatory.
