Job overviewGeeks On Site is seeking an experienced Google Business Profile (GBP) Specialist to support the management, optimization, and expansion of our local search presence across the United States.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience verifying and optimizing multiple Google Business Profiles, preferably for home service companies with a presence across multiple locations, improving local search visibility, and ensuring compliance with Google's business profile guidelines.
This role will focus on optimizing dozens of new and existing profiles nationwide, with the potential to support additional company brands.
Key Responsibilities- Audit existing Google Business Profiles to identify optimization opportunities, inconsistencies, and potential compliance issues.
- Optimize business profiles, including business descriptions, categories, services, operating hours, service areas, and other relevant information.
- Support the creation, verification, and optimization of new eligible business profiles.
- Identify and resolve profile issues, including duplicate listings, verification challenges, suspensions, and reinstatement requests.
- Develop and implement local SEO strategies to improve visibility in Google Maps and local search results.
- Monitor profile performance, track key metrics, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to align GBP optimization efforts with broader business goals.
- Stay current with Google's Business Profile policies, algorithm changes, and local search best practices.
- Support GBP management and optimization for additional company brands as needed.
Requirements
- Demonstrated hands-on experience managing and optimizing Google Business Profiles.
- Proven experience managing multiple business locations or service-area profiles.
- Strong understanding of local SEO, Google Maps ranking factors, and profile optimization techniques.
- Experience handling Google Business Profile verification, suspensions, duplicate listings, and reinstatement processes.
- Familiarity with Google's guidelines for service-area businesses and multi-location organizations.
- Ability to analyze GBP performance data and translate findings into practical recommendations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing multiple profiles simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and communicate progress effectively.
- Previous experience with nationwide service providers, home services, IT support, or other service-area businesses.
- Experience managing 50+ Google Business Profiles.
- Familiarity with local SEO tools such as BrightLocal, Whitespark, Semrush, or similar platforms.
- Experience with Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4 (GA4), and Looker Studio.
- Knowledge of local citations, directory listings, and business information consistency across platforms.
- Experience developing review management and reputation improvement strategies.
- Experience supporting multiple brands or business entities.
- Ability to create standardized GBP optimization workflows and reporting dashboards.
- Existing profiles are audited and prioritized for improvement.
- Business information is accurate, consistent, and compliant with Google policies.
- Eligible new profiles are successfully created and verified.
- Verification, suspension, and duplicate-profile issues are systematically addressed.
