Job Summary
Working in a fast paced and busy environment within the Goods Out Technical department. Working in conjunction with the Goods out team to build configure-to-order (CTO) test and strip products created on the system by the sales teams. Tasks also include handling of both client and enterprise equipment. This is a very hands-on role, with last-minute high priority orders possible, necessitating someone with great time management, Technical and prioritisation skills. Duties will also include, testing of inbound purchase orders from the Good Inwards team and the testing of returned items handed over by the RMA team.
Duties also involve overseeing and distributing the workload effectively amongst the Goods Out Technical Services Technicians. It is the job of the Team Leader to guide individuals and handle any technical queries that present themselves along the way.
Responsibilities
- Managing the department’s time effectively
- Overseeing all work that the Goods Out Technical Services Technicians are required to complete daily
- Liaising with the Operations Manager to discuss individual team performance and ideas for improvement
- Carrying out annual appraisals and performance reviews
- Assisting in day to day order processing, along with component testing; to ensure the department is operating as intended and meeting set targets
- Administrative tasks to ensure the team’s employee records are kept up to date
- To test incoming stock, liaising with the Goods In team
- To configure, build and test all CTO servers and blades for sales orders
- To retest all returned items, repairing these where possible
- To provide technical support to the Sales team, or any other team that may require it
- Any other suitable warehouse duties that may be required by the Operations Manager
- As the company culture promotes helping others, ad hoc tasks may be assigned to the job holder that are not listed above
- The job holder is expected to understand and work according to the requirements of the Techbuyer Quality Management System
- Conducting all points on the Goods out Technical Team Leader task list
Required Skills or Training
- Strong attention to detail with problem solving approach
- Excellent knowledge of IT component parts and process, along with demonstrable desire to learn
- A systematic, organised approach to work
- Strong leadership skills, including effective time management, prioritising and delegation
- Excellent communication skills
- Happy to ‘muck in’ and work collaboratively
