Role Summary and Impact
As part of the Global Operations Centre (GOC), you will work closely with teams across the United States, Europe, and Asia to deliver high-impact solutions in a collaborative, multicultural environment. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Scrum Master to guide and coach our development teams within Data & Technology Solutions. You will be a champion of Agile values and principles, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, transparency, and self-organization. Your role will be critical in enabling our teams to deliver high-quality data products and AI platforms efficiently and effectively, contributing directly to WPP's innovation in the AdTech space.

- An expert facilitator, skilled at guiding teams through Agile ceremonies and discussions to achieve clear outcomes.

- Passionate about continuous improvement, always seeking ways to optimize team performance and delivery predictability.
What you will do:
Facilitate Agile Processes and Ceremonies
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (e.g., Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective) ensuring they are productive, engaging, and aligned with Agile principles.
- Help the Product Owner manage the product backlog, ensuring stories are well-defined, estimated, and prioritized.
- Support the team in self-organizing and cross-functional collaboration, helping them to achieve sprint goals and ultimately, product vision.
- Ensure transparent communication of team progress, impediments, and metrics to all relevant stakeholders.
Coach and Develop Agile Teams
- Coach the development team on Scrum principles, Agile values, and engineering best practices to maximize productivity and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance and support to the Product Owner in understanding and implementing Agile practices, particularly regarding backlog management and stakeholder collaboration.
- Foster a culture of open communication, inspect-and-adapt, and continuous learning within the team.
- Help resolve team conflicts and build a strong sense of team ownership and accountability.
Remove Impediments and Protect the Team
- Identify, track, and actively work to remove impediments that hinder the team's progress and productivity.
- Shield the team from external distractions and interferences, allowing them to focus on sprint commitments.
- Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and management to identify and address organizational impediments to Agile adoption.
- Promote effective decision-making processes within the team, encouraging autonomy while ensuring alignment with broader goals.
Drive Continuous Improvement and Metrics
- Guide the team in using metrics (e.g., velocity, burn-down/up charts) to understand and improve their performance and predictability.
- Lead retrospective meetings, facilitating discussions around "what went well," "what could be improved," and action items for the next sprint.
- Champion Agile adoption and maturity across the organization, sharing best practices and insights with other teams and leadership.
- Help the team establish and refine their definition of "Done" to ensure consistent quality and delivery.
Skills and Experience
If this opportunity looks right for you, we are looking for candidates who have:
- 3+ years of experience as a dedicated Scrum Master for multiple software development teams, preferably in a data-intensive or technical product environment.
- Strong understanding and practical application of Scrum framework, Agile principles, and various Agile methodologies (Kanban, Lean).
- Proven ability to facilitate meetings effectively, manage conflict, and drive consensus.
- English fluency C1/C2
- Excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others.
- Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Asana).
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle and common engineering practices (e.g., CI/CD, TDD).
- Ability to understand complex technical issues at a high level and articulate them to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive problem-solver with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I/II), or other equivalent Agile certifications are highly desirable.
