This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
In this job, you will:
- Support various launch vehicle, target vehicle, and business development programs
- Design, develop, and implement flight software algorithms to support guidance, navigation, and control functions for the target or launch vehicle
- Design, develop, and implement simulation software to test and verify mission requirements for the vehicle
- Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality
- Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations to achieve a desired position, orientation or orbit in space
- Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control laws and hardware and software requirements for launch vehicles and/or spacecraft
- Utilize excellent communication skills to report program milestones, technical approaches, and findings to GNC as well as program management
- Other duties as assigned

This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company.
This position can be filled at either a Level 2 or Level 3.
Basic Qualifications for Level 2:
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 1 year of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
- Experience with vehicle trajectory design and customer provided requirements analysis in a flight software in simulation environment
- Experience with C++, MATLAB, and Simulink

- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 1 year of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
- Experience with vehicle trajectory design and customer provided requirements analysis in a flight software in simulation environment
- Experience with C++, MATLAB, and Simulink
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
- Master’s in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
- Familiarity with rocket motor propelled vehicle trajectory design and customer provided requirement analysis in a flight software in simulation environment.
- Experience with autopilot and guidance algorithm design and navigation and actuator subsystems
- Experience with Simulink and the Linux operating system
- Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher

Primary Level Salary Range: $77,200.00 - $115,800.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
