The Opportunity:
In this role, you will report to Supervisor, Onsite Services and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on- and off-site expert personnel – and our customers – to perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.
Location: Raritan, NJ 08869
Schedule: : Sun–Wed or Wed–Sun
12pm - 10:30pm (10hr shifts 4 days a week)
Pay: $26/hr. (plus 10% shift differential)
Valid driver's license required
What we’re looking for
· Education: High School Diploma or GED required
· Experience: 2+ years' experience in material handling/inventory replenishment or customer service, spill containment training, IATA, DOT, IMDG and OSHA Right to Know a plus, cross-referencing and inside sales experience a plus, knowledge of scientific products and services a plus
· Valid driver's license required
· Collaboration Tool: Knowledge of Information intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel

Possess strong knowledge and experience in shipping, inventory management, or purchasing.

How you will thrive and create an impact
Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will:

Responsible for managing inventory (including consumables, chemicals, samples, etc.), ensuring accurate inventory control, processing requests for inventory movement on and off-site, and providing customer metric reporting.

Oversee inventory functions such as monitoring slow-moving or obsolete stock, conducting cycle counts, performing annual physical inventories, and generating reports.

Provide daily customer service related to inventory management, including communication with customers regarding inventory status.

Handle purchasing tasks, including backorder reporting, expediting orders, managing direct factory shipments, coordinating third-party support, obtaining quotes, controlling documents, maintaining records, and resolving invoice or pricing discrepancies.

Coordinate shipping activities, including shipping customer materials, addressing routine issues, operating basic warehouse equipment, entering shipping details into customer systems, and conducting equipment inspections.

Manage hazardous materials, ensuring proper packaging, documentation, and shipping compliance.
