Join Mizuho as a GMI Support Specialist!
Position - GMI Support Specialist concentrating on all aspects of the Exchange Traded Derivatives Business.
Develop plans and manage projects to improve GMI functionality and respond to the business issues as well as support the current daily process and the resulting output for operations, legal, accounting and customers. This is a very forward-thinking role with regards to existing support and streamlining new and existing processes as the industry and customers’ demand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architects, manages, monitors, supports and troubleshoots all systems related to clearing
- Works with the business to understand their requirements and help develop solutions
- Primary knowledge expert for GMI Application and the GMI Lifecycle
- Actively participate in GMI Team Meetings and Project/Business Meetings
- Evaluates application software and provides management with recommendations
- Creates and maintains written documentation and diagrams as required for supported systems
- Manages the change process for supported systems
- Installs application and system patches
- Provides support off-hours and remotely when needed
- Ensures security policy is followed and valid
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field
- Strong communications and prioritization skills
- Familiarity with file structures of the GMI Application as well as the GMI Application Processing
- Experience in IT project planning, execution, co-ordination and documentation processes
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision while still being available to step in and support other team members and/or other departments when needed.
Preferred:
- Experience with DB2 and SQL
- Experience with the OS400 Operating System and iSeries Hardware
- 5 years experience supporting clearing systems of a major FCM
- Capability to document GMI processes and improve knowledge sharing within the GMI Team
- Broad-based knowledge of interaction of all asset classes on the GMI systems and core processes
- Highly knowledgeable of core GMI maintenance utilities, profiles, tables, & parameters used to customize the GMI Application and the resulting desired outputs

Location: Chicago
The expected base salary ranges from $111k-$200k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
