Job Summary:
- Coordinates and delegates between CSA Group regional offices, GMA Toronto and regional offices, as required, to accomplish project objectives. Responds to customer inquiries on national certification and related technical and regulatory requirements.
- Responds to customer inquiries for information on national certification for international customers (i.e. China Compulsory Certification Mark / CCC Mark and any other China national requirements for China, other countries can be specified differently) and approvals concerning products to be imported to the country. These inquiries can be related to technical as well as regulatory requirements.
- Liaison of national certification on partner relationship and technical update.
- Ensures that the goals of each project meet customer needs and are accomplished within the prescribed time frame, funding parameters and regulatory requirements. Activities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Identification of project scope and estimated cost, lead time and applicable national government procedure;
- Identify applicable safety standards for national approval;
- Identify regulatory codes and laws for national approval;
- Provide engineering inputs to testing facilities for product testing (i.e. specify tests to be performed);
- Arrange alternative testing services with Domestic Partners and other organizations to complete projects when it makes more sense to be done elsewhere;
- Customize engineering projects/reports to meet local requirements;
- Assign project tasks to certification engineers for review of non-CSA test reports. Assignment can also include additional testing of client’s products;
- Review engineering reports for completeness;
- Ensure all applicable forms are completed properly;
- Ensures project cost and obligations are met.
- Keeps up-to-date on national certification requirements. Researches and gathers information and updates on national technical requirements, government regulations, administrative guidelines and working practices and forms for national approvals. Provides relevant information to be compiled and maintained in the controlled GMA. Informs and directs internal staff on national deviations and country specific Safety Standards and requirements associated with the preparation of engineering reports utilizing GMA’s global news / technical update structure to internal and external.
- Provides point of Contact for CSA customers for national approval; cooperates internally with GMA Toronto for national certification service offering to avoid internal conflicts.
Coordinates between GMA Toronto and GMA regional offices to deliver one-stop service to local customers for other countries.
- Bachelor or College degree, preferably in Engineering and/or Business or other equivalent
- 3-4 years industry experience and preferably 2 years’ experience with national certification process and compliance work
- Project management skill
- Microsoft office suite proficiency is required
- Strong organization, creativity and project management skills to plan for projects, events and conferences.
