The Consumer Australia team have broad responsibilities in supporting customers & merchants.

We are responsible for full end-to-end marketing covering acquisition, lifecycle and engagement, social strategy, media strategy, Public Relations, brand and CX.

About the Role (purpose of the role)

The General Manager, Cards & Partnerships is accountable for the end‑to‑end performance, growth and regulatory integrity of the Cards business, including proprietary products, white label and co‑branded programs, and strategic partnerships.

The role sets and executes Cards strategy, owns the Cards P&L, leads partner‑led growth initiatives, and ensures strong customer outcomes through disciplined risk management and effective remediation. Working closely with delivery squads and enterprise teams, the GM translates strategy into scalable, compliant and commercially sustainable outcomes.

What Your Responsibilities Look Like…

Strategy, P&L and Portfolio Performance

  • Own the Cards P&L, actively driving revenue, cost and risk levers to deliver profitable, sustainable growth.
  • Define and execute the Cards strategy aligned to enterprise objectives, customer needs and regulatory expectations.
  • Develop and maintain a customer‑led product roadmap, balancing growth, experience, risk and compliance.
  • Oversee portfolio performance across acquisition, engagement, credit quality and lifecycle management.

White Label and Co‑Branded Cards

  • Lead the strategy, development and ongoing management of white label and co‑branded card programs.
  • Ensure partner products are scalable, compliant and commercially viable across origination, servicing and lifecycle.
  • Act as executive owner for key partner programs, ensuring contractual, brand and customer commitments are met.
  • Balance partner customisation with platform efficiency, operational control and long‑term portfolio health.

Partnerships and Growth

  • Identify, assess and execute strategic partnership opportunities that drive customer acquisition, engagement and distribution.
  • Lead commercial structuring and negotiation of partnership and co‑branding arrangements.
  • Be the driving force behind partner onboarding and execution, working across Product, Technology, Marketing, Risk, Legal and Operations.
  • Build strong senior‑level relationships with partners to maximise mutual value and long‑term growth.

Customer Remediation and Regulatory Accountability

  • Sponsor and lead the Cards Customer Remediation work, ensuring fair and timely outcomes for customers.
  • Own remediation governance, escalation and decision‑making for the Cards portfolio.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance and Legal to ensure remediation meets regulatory and community expectations.
  • Drive systemic fixes and control improvements arising from incidents and remediation activity.

Risk, Compliance and Governance

  • Embrace the complexity of a regulated environment and ensure the Cards business never compromises on compliance.
  • Provide strong governance across product change, partner launches and operational incidents.
  • Support regulatory engagement and reviews relating to Cards and partner programs.
  • Provide clear, timely reporting to executive leadership on performance, risk, incidents and remediation.

Leadership and Ways of Working

  • Lead and develop a high‑performing Cards leadership and product team.
  • Collaborate effectively across cross‑functional squads and enterprise stakeholders to deliver outcomes at pace.
  • Listen to customer feedback, address pain points and drive continuous improvement in customer experience.

  • Extensive senior leadership experience in cards, consumer finance or payments.
  • Proven P&L ownership and commercial decision‑making capability.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering white label, co‑branded or partnership‑led products.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, risk and compliance obligations in financial services.
  • Experience leading or sponsoring customer remediation.
  • Credit card scheme and processor experience.
  • ASX‑listed or similarly governed organisation experience.
  • Track record of scaling partnership‑led growth.
  • Strong commercial and customer focus.
  • Proactive, adaptable and comfortable with complexity.
  • Confident challenging thinking while remaining pragmatic and outcome‑driven.
  • A “doer” who leads from the front and builds trust across teams and partners.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, Commerce, Economics or a related discipline.
  • Postgraduate or executive education desirable.
  • 10+ years’ experience in a related field or position

Skills Required
