Global Trade Promotion Process Lead

at MARS

Hybrid working (up to 50%)

Location: Warsaw

The Global Process Lead – Trade Promotions & Trade Finance is accountable for defining and driving the global strategy for trade promotions, trade budgeting, and accrual validation processes. This role ensures standardized, efficient, and controlled processes across the enterprise, enabling Mars to optimize promotional spend, accurately account for trade activities, and drive financial compliance. The role owns process standards, KPIs, and the global transformation agenda, engaging key stakeholders across MGSF, Finance, and Mars Segments.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Own and define strategy, process design, and implementation of trade promotions, trade budget management, and accrual validation processes globally.

  • Analyze internal and external leading practices to develop a transformation roadmap aligned with agreed KPIs.

  • Define end-to-end processes, including budget planning, accrual validation, and reporting, in collaboration with MGSF, Controllership, and Segments.

  • Drive process standardization across geographies, ensuring global alignment while allowing minimal necessary local adjustments.

  • Identify, design, and deploy process improvement initiatives and automation to optimize efficiency and reduce errors in trade promotions and accruals.

  • Support system and digital enablement projects, including ERP and TPM systems and reporting tools, to enhance process efficiency.

What are we looking for?

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance with a concentration in Accounting preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in Accounting, preferably in trade promotions, trade budget management, or finance operations in global organizations.

  • Previous or current experience as a Global Process Owner (GPO) or Lead is preferred.

  • Experience in Shared Services or BPO environments with global exposure.

  • Previous experience working in an FMCG/CPG environment would be an advantage.

  • Professional certification (such as CA or CPA) and/or a master’s degree is preferred.

  • Experience in Global Delivery Model and Business Process Outsourcing critical.

  • Digital savvy with exposure to latest trends in RPA, automation, and AI.

  • Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience in Shared Services or BPO operations with global exposure.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and reporting/analytics tools.

  • Proven ability to lead process improvement and transformation initiatives.

  • Strong analytical, financial control, and stakeholder management skills.

  • TPM (Trade Promotion Management) system experience preferred.

  • Proficiency in English.
