Job Summary:
Performs a variety of export compliance screening activities and serves as a single point of contact, ensuring the company’s supply chain fully complies with the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the Singapore Strategic Goods Control Regulations and other trade regulatory requirements, where applicable.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Monitors and reviews Avnet’s shipments to ensure continual adherence to import/export compliance, reporting and recordkeeping requirements.
- Conducts routine compliance review screenings i.e., Denied Party List (DPL) etc for new partner creation.
- Conducts desk-bound research on Customers/End-Users’ business profiles/industries etc.
- Tracks license determination status in SAP-GTS and applies for export licenses with US/SG export agencies, where applicable.
- Regularly interface with local Trade agencies i.e., Singapore Customs and/other Competent Authorities to facilitate Avnet’s shipments.
- Assists the Manager with the upkeeping and maintenance of Strategic Trade Scheme (STS) & Secured Trade Partnership (STP) Programs.
- Responds to enquiries from business stakeholders and trade agencies.
- Monitors the updates in the US/local trade legislations to understand business impacts.
- Delivers targeted training programs to business stakeholders to create compliance awareness.
- Performs targeted audit/reviews on business units.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years working experience in logistics, supply chain, procurement, customer service or trade operations is preferred.
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
Education and Certification(s):
- Diploma / Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
Basic Competencies:
- SAP / SAP-GTS experience is a plus
- Knowledge of relevant trade laws & regulations is a plus
- Knowledge of Singapore Customs’ schemes i.e. STP/STS is a plus
- Experience in customs brokerage, logistics or other trade operational is a plus
