Drive enterprise-wide supply data excellence and governance as the strategic owner of our most critical asset. We're seeking an exceptional leader to transform how our organization manages, governs, and derives value from supplier data across all business functions. This role combines deep business acumen with technical expertise to ensure our supplier data serves as a competitive advantage while meeting the highest standards of quality, security, and compliance.
You'll be the subject matter expert and change agent for supplier data domains, hierarchies, relationships, legal entities, tax information, segmentation, and master data management. Working at the intersection of business strategy and data governance, you'll challenge existing processes, influence organizational direction, and establish standards that enable data-driven decision making across our global operations.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
Strategic Data Domain Leadership
Champion, Own, and Govern the complete supplier data domain including hierarchies, entity structures, segmentation, and relationship mapping across all enterprise systems, enable data as a product
Establish enterprise-wide supplier data standards and drive continuous improvement in data quality, accessibility, and business value
Lead cross-functional project & governance initiatives as the primary authority for supplier data decisions, policy development, and strategic direction
Apply systems thinking to understand and optimize the end-to-end flow of data across platforms, domains, and business processes
Enable supplier experience, sourcing productivity, supply chain resiliency, and procurement compliance through high-quality data management
Master Data Management Excellence
Engage Business Stakeholders and MDM teams to define golden supplier records, data quality rules, survivorship logic, and system integrations
Advance unified supplier data efforts to accelerate M&A integration
Coordinate with Data Stewards on supplier onboarding and validation processes, business definitions, lineage documentation, and system mappings
Support digital tool integration by ensuring consistent supplier data across source-to-pay platforms
Enable contract effectiveness tracking through supplier-to-contract relationship mapping and spend attribution
Data Quality & Analytics
Establish comprehensive data quality standards and monitor KPIs for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness
Conduct SQL-based analysis and own RCA for data quality issues, validate business rules, and support data-driven decision making
Provide certified source-to-pay data enabling strategic KPI reporting for supplier experience, sourcing impact, and ESG measurement
Maintain enterprise data catalog ensuring supplier data definitions, lineage, and security classifications remain current
Business Partnership & Communication
Serve as primary liaison between Integrated Supply Chain (ISC), procurement, legal, and technical teams for all supplier data requirements
Partner with ISC on change management for supplier data processes supporting digital transformation initiatives
Communicate standards and coordinate user training to ensure alignment with procurement regulations, privacy laws, and industry standards
Risk Management & Compliance
Ensure supplier data practices comply with privacy laws, financial regulations, trade compliance requirements, and industry standards
Manage data security classifications and access controls while leading incident response for quality issues or compliance violations
Maintain comprehensive audit trails and documentation supporting regulatory compliance and internal governance
YOU HAVE:
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
7+ years of progressive experience in data management, procurement analytics, business analysis, or related roles with increasing responsibility
5+ years of direct experience with supplier data, master data management, or data governance in enterprise environments
Proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and driving organizational change
Technical Expertise
Advanced SQL proficiency for data analysis and quality validation
Experience with Master Data Management platforms such as Informatica MDM or similar enterprise solutions
Proficiency with data governance tools including data catalogs, lineage tools, and quality management platforms
Understanding of cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, AWS, Azure) and database systems with ability to work effectively with technical teams
Familiarity with procurement technology platforms such as iValua, Esker, Sievo, contract repositories, or similar source-to-pay solutions
Business & Leadership Skills
Deep supply data domain expertise including hierarchies, legal entities, tax structures, segmentation strategies, and item master relationships
Exceptional communication abilities to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders and influence cross-functional teams
Proven change management and collaboration skills driving data governance initiatives across business units
Strong analytical problem-solving with track record of data-driven decision making
Domain Knowledge
Manufacturing or B2B industry experience with complex supplier relationships, supply chain partnerships, and regulatory compliance
Source-to-pay process knowledge spanning supplier onboarding, procurement, contract management, and accounts payable
Understanding of item master data and its relationship to supplier records across procurement and manufacturing
ERP systems knowledge (SAP, Oracle, Infor) and supplier master data integration processes
Regulatory compliance familiarity including trade compliance, privacy laws, and financial regulations
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Data Management, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field
Professional certifications from the Data Management Association (DAMA), Institute for Supply Management (ISM), Association for Supply Chain Management (APICS), or equivalent
Technology certifications in Informatica, Snowflake, or major ERP/procurement platforms

Pay Transparency
nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range:
Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
