Inside the Role
The Global Supply Chain Strategy Project Lead supports the execution of global Supplier Management (GSM) governance and transformation initiatives across Daimler Truck AG operating units. The role translates GSM strategic priorities into structured, cross-regional project plans and helps ensure initiatives are executed in a coordinated and transparent manner.The position contributes to global projects that strengthen alignment in procurement and supply chain processes, enhance supplier management capabilities, and support digital initiatives that improve visibility into supplier performance. Working closely with stakeholders across regions and functions, the role tracks progress, monitors risks and issues, and prepares updates for GSM governance forums and leadership reviews.
Success in this position requires strong project management fundamentals, the ability to coordinate work across global teams, and a disciplined approach to risk management, communication, and execution.

What You Drive
Global Program & Project ExecutionDevelop and maintain global project plans aligned with GSM roadmap milestones
Define project scope, deliverables, timelines, dependencies, and success measures
Lead cross-regional project teams across North America, Europe, and other operating units to coordinate execution and maintain alignment on key milestones
Ensure initiatives progress according to plan and remain aligned with GSM strategic objectives
Maintain risk registers and mitigation plans for global initiatives impacting supplier performance and production stability
Monitor cross-regional risks that could affect supplier performance or supply continuity
Lead structured issue resolution, including root cause analysis and escalation when appropriate
Coordinate project changes and support stage-gate reviews to confirm readiness for progression
Establish and manage governance forums including core team meetings, steering committees, and leadership reviews
Prepare executive updates on milestone progress, risks, dependencies, and program impact
Track and communicate key indicators related to GSM governance and transformation initiatives
Ensure leadership has clear visibility to support informed decision making
Lead matrixed project teams across regions and functions without direct authority
Facilitate collaboration across operating units to maintain alignment and accountability
Coordinate cross-functional response during high-impact supply events and critical supplier issues
Support the continued development of more proactive and structured global supplier management practices
Support digital initiatives that improve data visibility, reporting, and analytics across GSM activities
Coordinate projects involving digital tools and platforms used by global teams
Partner with IT and Digital teams to manage system dependencies and implementation timelines
Promote consistent data definitions and reporting practices across regions
Knowledge You Should Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline AND 7+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional project or program initiatives
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or willingness to obtain certification within 12 months
Experience working on global or multi-regional initiatives
Strong capabilities in risk management, structured problem solving, and change management
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare and present clear updates to leadership and governance forums
Global Engagement Requirements
Up to 10% domestic and international travel
Flexibility in working hours to support global time zones, including occasional early morning or late evening meetings
Work schedules coordinated collaboratively to balance global business needs and individual sustainability
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or global supply chain environments
Experience applying Continuous Improvement and structured problem-solving approaches (Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, Kaizen, PDCA)
Experience supporting governance structures, transformation initiatives, or operating model implementation
Experience working within a matrixed, global organization
Familiarity with supplier performance frameworks and supply chain performance metrics used to track operational performance
Experience working with analytics tools, visualization platforms, or digital performance systems
Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field
