Job Summary
The Global Senior Enterprise Architect plays a critical role in aligning technology strategy with business goals, leads the development of efficient architectural standards, and formulates the direction and design of architecture for Manufacturing, Quality and Supply chain areas. The individual fulfilling this role will be responsible for leading the efforts to elaborate and communicate the architecture of the given domain and/or developing architectural solutions for projects and programs in pharmaceutical production and quality assurance.
Your Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Define and maintain architectural solutions for manufacturing, quality and shopfloor systems, deliver architectural services or governance activities (MES, LIMS, QMS, shopfloor equipment, ERP integration etc.)
- Elaborate and approve the solution architecture for a specific solution based on architecture-significant requirements and company-wide architecture standards, as well as regulatory frameworks and industry best practices (GxP, ISA-95, NIS2...)
- Collaborate with global manufacturing, quality and IT leaders to understand strategic objectives and identify enabling technologies
- Employ architecture patterns to suggest the most adequate utilization of technical platforms in support of the holistic solution architecture design.
- Maintain and evolve Architecture tools and platforms, principles, policies and standards.
- Define and drive the development / documentation and communication of the architecture roadmap for the domain.
- Assess emerging technologies and vendor solutions for fit, scalability, and compliance, guiding investment decisions.
- Lead the adoption of digital technologies (e.g., IoT, MES, AI/ML) to optimize operations, ensure compliance, and improve agility across the value chain.
Minimum Requirements
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Experience in broader IT as well as solution/enterprise architecture roles within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry
- Deep understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality processes and technologies (e.g. MES, LIMS, QMS, SCADA,)
- Proven experience of developing and implementing architecture frameworks as part of major changes or deployments
- Familiarity with common enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, …)
- Demonstrated ability to lead without authority, influence at senior levels and manage complex stakeholder dynamics
- Experience working across multiple geographies and cultures, ability to adapt to diverse environments
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving change in dynamic, regulated environments
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Business Administration, or related field; (Master’s degree is preferred)
- Ability to see the big picture and how systems interact across business, application, data and technology layers
