As a Analyst, MENA & Türkiye Junior Economist in the EMEA team, you will support the coverage of the MENA economies. You will support the analysis of economic trends, produce comprehensive macroeconomic forecasts, and track policy developments by central banks and fiscal authorities. You will collaborate with colleagues to highlight regional and cross-country themes, publish regular client notes, and participate in calls, investor trips, and conferences.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze macroeconomic, financial, and policy drivers of various economies, with a focus on emerging and frontier markets
- Support J.P. Morgan clients with bespoke analysis in timely manner
- Organize investor trips, webinars, and conferences
- Develop, maintain, and enhance econometric and quantitative models for forecasting, scenario analysis, and policy evaluation
- Prepare Excel charts, Word documents, and PowerPoint presentations for publications and meetings
- Manage, clean, and analyze large and complex datasets using tools such as Python to manipulate and analyze macroeconomic data, producing charts, tables, and publications
- Find, read, and summarize information such as news articles, academic research, and data documentation
- Contribute to the automation and improvement of research processes, ensuring data integrity and reproducibility
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Understanding of basic macroeconomics and statistical techniques such as multiple regression analysis
- Knowledge of the region political and macroeconomic trends
- Coding skills necessary to manipulate data and perform statistical analysis using tools like Python and LLM
- Reading comprehension to gather and summarize articles and information on economic topics
- Communication skills to describe research and forecasts verbally and in writing
- Strong quantitative and econometric skills, with proven ability to analyze macro data and develop models (e.g., time-series analysis, panel data, forecasting techniques)
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills, attention to detail, and a problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
