Job Description:
SUMMARY & PURPOSE OF THE POSITIONThe Global Public Affairs & Policy Lead, Neurosciences will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing Ipsen’s global corporate affairs and policy strategy for our Neuroscience business. This role will accelerate the company’s ambition to build leadership in therapy areas including stroke, spasticity and migraine / headache through proactive stakeholder engagement, policy leadership, and integrated brand and country team support.
Acting as a strategic partner to global cross‑functional brand teams, as well as country Market Access and Corporate Affairs teams, the successful candidate will design and implement initiatives that strengthen Ipsen’s policy voice. They will work to elevate Ipsen’s disease priorities on the healthcare agenda and enhance the company’s reputation. They will translate Ipsen’s Neurosciences policy plans into tangible impact for patients and healthcare systems globally.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & TECHNICAL COMPETENCIESStrategic Policy Leadership
Lead the development of Ipsen’s Neurosciences global policy agenda, identifying priority issues and opportunities to influence key stakeholders to deliver impact at a national and regional level.
Work cross-functionally to shape Ipsen’s public policy actions related to Neurosciences, including topics such as pathway transformation, earlier access and value frameworks.
Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy
Build and sustain strong relationships with international stakeholders including, patient organizations, expert clinicians, and institutional bodies.
Co-develop multistakeholder initiatives that drive awareness, consensus, and progress on key pathway transformation and access challenges across geographies.
Serve as a thought partner to regional and country Corporate Affairs and Value & Access teams, ensuring alignment of global and national advocacy activities.
Integrated Brand Support
Collaborate with brand, value & access, and corporate affairs teams to develop integrated public affairs strategies supporting key neuroscience products and pipeline assets.
Provide policy insights and stakeholder intelligence to inform brand strategy, evidence generation, and market access.
Work with country teams to translate complex policy and ecosystem issues into actionable engagement plans that generate measurable business and societal value.
Execution and Impact
Design and lead high-impact initiatives, for example policy roundtables, partnerships, and campaigns, delivered compliantly and with operational excellence.
Monitor and evaluate the impact of policy and advocacy activities against strategic KPIs.
Represent Ipsen at selected external forums, ensuring consistent articulation of the company’s vision and values in Neuroscience as well as more broadly.
Knowledge, Experience & education :
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in public affairs, policy, government relations or patient advocacy, preferably in biopharmaceutical or healthcare sectors, with demonstrated delivery of tangible national outcomes.
Demonstrated track record in developing and leading multistakeholder initiatives or coalitions in biopharma or healthcare sectors, activating cross-functional and country teams.
Strong understanding of national health policy mechanisms, particularly those influencing chronic conditions where patients struggle to navigate to the right healthcare professionals.
Demonstrated experience contributing to cross-functional launch teams for therapies in chronic conditions (e.g., migraine, pain, or similar) to support successful product introduction and access strategies.
Excellent business acumen, with the ability to link policy and advocacy strategy to business and pipeline priorities, especially at the national level.
Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels.
High personal accountability, strong execution focus, and a collaborative, purpose-driven mindset.
Advanced degree in life sciences, public policy, or a related discipline preferred.
Fluent in English; other major European languages are an advantage.
