Position Purpose
The Global Project Manager has global responsibility for establishing, leading, and continuously improving project management excellence across the Global Filler Metals organization and leading and delivering complex, high-value projects across multiple geographies, business units, and time zones. This senior role requires a seasoned professional who combines strategic vision with rigorous delivery discipline, operating at the intersection of business transformation, cross-functional collaboration, and executive stakeholder engagement.
The successful candidate will serve as the primary accountability holder for end-to-end project delivery, ensuring outcomes are delivered on time, within budget, and to the agreed quality standards — while navigating the unique challenges of global operations including cultural diversity, regulatory variation, and distributed teams.
Key Accountabilities
Global Project Management Governance:
- Establish and own the global project management framework, standards, and governance model for Global Filler Metals.
- Define portfolio prioritization, stage gates, milestone reviews, escalation paths, and execution KPIs.
- Ensure clear accountability and ownership across GPM, R&D, sourcing, operations, and regional teams within a matrix organization.
- Provide leadership to ensure on-time, predictable delivery of critical global and cross-functional initiatives.
Project Delivery & Execution:
- Drive disciplined execution, transparency, and follow-through, reducing delays and recurring escalations.
- Lead the full project lifecycle from initiation through to closure, including planning, execution, monitoring, and benefits realization
- Define and manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources, and risks across global workstreams
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, milestone schedules, and critical path analyses:
- Ensure delivery against agreed KPIs, tolerances, and stage gate criteria
- Manage project interdependencies and interfaces with other programs and business change initiatives
Stakeholder & Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders, sponsors, and global stakeholders across cultures and time zones
- Facilitate Steering Committee meetings, working groups, and cross-functional workshops
- Develop and execute stakeholder engagement and communication plans
- Act as primary point of escalation and resolution for all project-related issues
- Represent the project at Functional leadership level and in external partner/vendor meetings as required
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Business, Project Management, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience leading global, cross-functional initiatives at a senior leadership level.
- Proven success operating in complex, matrix-based industrial or manufacturing organizations.
- Strong executive communication, stakeholder influence, and change leadership capabilities.
- Fluent in English. Swedish is a merit
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in engineered products, materials, or industrial manufacturing.
- Formal project management certification (PMP, Prince2, Agile, or equivalent).
- Experience with product data structures, master data governance, or portfolio management.
- Exposure to digitalization or workflow transformation initiatives.
