Job Description

We’re looking for a Global Product Operations Senior Specialist to join our team, focusing on Acquiring and Merchant Chargeback & Investigations within the Global Products Operations area.

The Acquiring team is dedicated to enhancing sustainable card operations and providing Wise customers with seamless payment solutions. 

The Merchant Chargeback & Investigations team is responsible for managing card chargebacks related to Pay-ins and Payment facilitators. 

This role is a unique opportunity to have an impact on Wise’s mission by contributing to building and supporting operationally sustainable cross-border products and help save millions more people money. 

Your mission: 

Wise has already pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders and currencies. Our customers can also manage their hard-earned money with the world’s first platform to offer true multi-currency banking and convenient business solutions.

A Global Products Operations Senior Specialist's role is to support Product Teams as a representative of the Payment Operations organisation - to ensure that new and current products, features and processes scale efficiently and securely.

Here’s how you’ll contribute to the Operations Team:

  • Be the Heartbeat of Operations: Provide critical daily support to regional Payment Operations teams, ensuring smooth execution of global payment products and features as they evolve.
  • Optimize and Innovate: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and developers, to identify opportunities for process improvement and deliver solutions that drive efficiency and excellence.
  • Lead New Launches: Own the coordination of new product rollouts, partner integrations, and testing – ensuring a smooth operational side of each launch.
  • Drive Change: Be the communication bridge between the Payment Operations teams, Finance, Compliance, and other key stakeholders, ensuring everyone is aligned on changes and updates.
  • Own Training & Documentation: Take charge of developing and maintaining training materials, process documentation, and communication for our Global Products Operations team, enabling others to succeed.
  • Manage Escalations: Act as the first line of defense when crisis-level incidents arise, using your expertise to navigate through challenges and keep operations running smoothly.
  • Be the Go-To Expert: Become the primary point of contact for our global payment products, liaising with internal teams and external partners to ensure operational excellence.

Qualifications

A bit about you:

  • You have excellent written and verbal English skills
  • You have the legal right to work in Estonia (we're not offering visa sponsorship for this role)
  • You have proven project management skills and have been driving process improvements throughout your career 
  • You have led cross-functional projects to drive operational efficiency, scale processes, and automate/manual task workflows, optimizing productivity and supporting business growth
  • You define your priorities according to data and customer needs. Before you start a project you understand what success looks like and track your progress towards this vision
  • You understand operational risks and are able to mitigate them proactively
  • You’re a great communicator, straight up, clear and honest. You can adapt your communication style to different audiences. You’re able to persuade others and you aren’t afraid to challenge something when you need to
  • You enjoy being part of an inspiring team environment where ideas are shared and openness is valued. You’re comfortable and composed when either giving or receiving feedback
  • You’re proactive and a great relationship builder, experienced at working closely with external partners as well as product development teams, including product managers and engineers
  • Your intellectual curiosity has no limit and this is your guiding light. You have the self-awareness to understand when you don’t know something and the humility to learn

Some extra skills that would be awesome:

  • You have a Payments Operations or a Fincrime background (not a must, but a plus) 
  • You have worked in a cross border team - know their challenges and how to overcome these
  • You know how to use different processes improvements methodologies/tools (eg: Jira, OKRs, Excel)
