Key responsibilities
As a Product Specialist in an Agile Team, you will develop and maintain products and solutions in Industrial Controlling & Monitoring Devices, ensuring ABB fully understands market requirements and translates them into product/system specifications and development activities.
Your portfolio includes Measuring, Monitoring, and Time Relays, Power Supplies, and Interface Relays within the Industry & Control Unit of the Smart Power Division.
This role offers collaboration with local and international stakeholders and close customer engagement. An exciting opportunity for those seeking a new challenge.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Understand market and customer requirements, monitor portfolio performance, and assess impact on products and solutions.
Identify business opportunities, define technical product specifications, and develop business cases for new product developments.
Develop and manage alternative market entry strategies for complementary offerings, from specification to launch.
Represent the customer’s voice internally and support operational teams with product management activities.
Keep Agile Units, sales, and channels informed about portfolio updates, market trends, competition, and operational information.
Track business performance for assigned products/services and implement improvement actions.
Support Marketing & Communication with content and documentation for promotional activities.
Collaborate with related ABB system solutions to align product offerings and uphold ABB’s values of safety and integrity.
Qualifications for the role
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience in product management within the electrification business, with relevant knowledge of products or industries, combining a technical background with strong business acumen.
Ambitious, self-motivated, and customer-focused, with strong awareness of market and competitors.
Solid team player with an independent, solution-oriented working style.
Resilient in an agile and changing environment, structured, and able to grasp the bigger picture.
Willingness to travel occasionally for business purposes (e.g., customer visits, voice-of-customer initiatives, trainings).
Fluent in German and negotiation-level English (both written and spoken).
