As the Protolabs Network: Global Product Manager, you will drive the growth, strategy, and performance of our global market and product portfolio. Blending market leadership with business ownership, this high-impact role requires your skills to bring a general-manager mindset to the team. What You Will Do:
- Global Network Product Leadership :
- Defines the Network product roadmap, including the end-to-end customer experience, building a structured pipeline of partner and platform investments needed for Network growth.
- Define the capabilities, certifications, and quality standards required from manufacturing partners to meet the needs of the end markets and customers we serve by identifying and prioritizing new capability and service gaps in the Network.
- Conducts consistent offer and performance assessment, ensuring the Network strategy is grounded in customer demand signals, marketplace dynamics, and platform scalability requirements.
- Leads Network go-to-market strategy, defining our Network value proposition in customer-centric terms and supporting our internal sales team to clearly articulate why and when customers should leverage the Network versus our factory offering.
- Work closely with Pricing and Network Sourcing Team to develop pricing strategies based on value delivered relative to customer’s next best alternative in each country and lead change management around pricing management to extract maximum value from new and existing offerings.
- Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Act as a mini-GM for the Global Network business segment, including P&L accountability and margin optimization. Monitor and drive actions around commercial results (revenue, orders, order lines, etc compared to budget and trends).
- Collaborates with marketing to drive top of funnel traffic, ensuring that sales motions and site experience lead to increasing conversion. Partners with these teams, along with software, to consistently improve customer experience and revenue attainment.
- Captain NPI teams for specific offers as required by the Sr. Global Product Director.
- Translates roadmap, voice-of-customer insights, and NPS feedback into functional requirements for the platform and operations teams, ensuring the Network experience meets or exceeds the Protolabs standard.
- Collaborate with sourcing, operations, sales, customer service and supply chain to deliver product success and operational excellence on an ongoing basis.
- Champion global alignment across regions for Network initiatives
- Monitor & report market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities. Drive innovation and new product development for Network solutions.
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in technology, engineering or business. MBA/advanced degree preferred.
- Demonstrable track record of technical understanding and working with strong technical organizations required for non-technical majors.
- At least 5 years (3 years if with MBA/ advanced degree) of related business-to-business experience on a business >$50M.
- Demonstrable exposure/familiarity with product management/strategic marketing core toolkit, including at least three of the following: market sizing, market segmentation, voice of the customer, value proposition development & quantification, offer management, and value-based pricing.
- Track record of successful participation in larger global projects and cross-functional teams that successfully achieve milestones and complete deliverables.
- Manufacturing experience spanning how B2B customers transact, how to manage vendors, and how products are manufactured.
- Experience in Network-based fulfillment model highly preferred.
- Comfortable with public speaking and executive team interactions.
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
