Global Product Manager – Solid Wire (Non & Low Alloy)

 

📍 Location: Any European location where ESAB has a legal entity


This role leads the global Non- & Low-Alloy Solid Wire product portfolio as a business unit. You will define and execute the global product strategy, manage the product lifecycle end-to-end, and drive profitable growth across all regions. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise in welding consumables and metallurgy with strong commercial acumen and strategic execution capabilities to deliver customer value and business performance.


What You’ll be doing:

  • Develop and execute the global product strategy and roadmap for non- and low-alloy solid wire products.

  • Own portfolio positioning, value proposition, and lifecycle management from concept through phase-out.

  • Drive new product introductions (NPI), portfolio simplification, standardization, and cost-down initiatives.

  • Partner cross-functionally with R&D, Operations, Sourcing, Quality, Sales, and Supply Chain to ensure successful execution and reliable supply.

  • Support pricing strategy, profitability improvement, and long-range portfolio planning.

  • Align global strategy with regional market requirements and customer needs.

  • Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and VOC insights to identify growth opportunities and translate them into actionable initiatives.

  • Support regional sales and marketing teams with technical positioning, product training, and key customer engagement activities.

  • Optimize manufacturing footprint, capacity utilization, quality, and cost competitiveness across the global organization.

  • Travel Requirement: Approximately 25–30% global travel expected.


What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, Business, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in global product management within an industrial or manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of welding consumables and solid wire applications.

  • Background in welding, metallurgy, or materials engineering.

  • Experience with non- and low-alloy steel solid wires is highly preferred.

  • Strong commercial mindset with analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a global matrix organization and influence cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.

  • Fluent English language skills.

  • Curious, proactive, and customer-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
